Optum's EHR Services represents one of the fastest growing practices within Optum Insight's Advisory and Implementations business unit. The EHR Services practice is comprised of 600+ individuals across the U.S. and Ireland who are dedicated to improving the healthcare delivery system through the power of healthcare technology, specifically, the EHR and integrated applications and tools. As an Epic Technical Architect, you'll drive vital projects that have strategic importance to our clients. You'll be meeting client needs and coordinating solutions with your broad technical background across not only the Epic Infrastructure domain, but also with your knowledge of general IT, including networking, storage, compute, virtualization, data center operations, and cloud computing. Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as cross-functional technical resource to organize and execute against core technical objectives and act as a resource for daily operational issues and prospective client solutioning Assist leadership and other department team members in the implementation of technical programs or projects, including planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating initiatives, coordinating project activities, collaborating with project team members, and monitoring progress toward achievement Lead technically oriented projects and initiatives, such as technical dress rehearsals, implementation or upgrade testing phases, infrastructure and end-user device discovery, and infrastructure conversion or sizing initiatives Create and ensure accuracy of deliverables including presentations, contracts, and spreadsheets; interface with other areas of the business as necessary Ensure prompt escalation of challenges/issues that will impact the business and initiative delivery Serve as a liaison between organizational technical needs and Epic support staff Maintain regular communication with Epic representatives, including participating in relevant weekly team meetings Work with Epic representatives, your client's business community, and end users to ensure the system meets the organization's technical needs regarding the project deliverables and timeline Develop an understanding of technical needs to set the direction for the organization's workflows Reviewing the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership Ensure timely communications with team members to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end-user concerns, budget, and upcoming milestones

Required Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in healthcare technology, preferably supporting EHRs and EHR IT Infrastructure 5+ years of Epic technical/infrastructure/database administration experience Led technical projects, such as software or hardware implementations, technology infrastructure initiatives and architecture, disaster recovery planning, EHR migrations, etc. Ability to work with complex client IT infrastructure, and distill and track work from distinct goals but ambiguous steps Possess on of the following: Epic ECSA; ODBA; Cogito Admin Solid communication and organizational skills, and ability to track and communicate statuses to leadership teams
Preferred Qualifications:
History of team management (informal or formal), cross-team communication and leadership skills, and track record of driving successful execution as a team Epic Systems knowledge or certification in client server infrastructure, database administration, or other relevant technical area Experience with Agile, Lean, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies Proficiency with Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
