JOB REQUIREMENTS: Overview Responsible for total sanitation, floor care,preparation and organization of patient rooms, floors, bed set-ups, andancillary areas. Responsibilities Responsible for thorough cleaning ofassigned areas including, but not limited to, furniture, tile, fixtures,windows, sinks, tubs, toilets, mirrors, showers, etc. Perform high andlow dusting of TV\'s, lights, walls, mop floors, elevators and stairs,clean door frames, ceiling vents, and vacuum carpet, etc. Adhere to allorganizational policies and procedures. Observes all isolationprocedures and Infect Prevention Standards. Is knowledgeable on correctchemicals used for different pathogens. Maintains EVS closet, EVS cart,and all equipment in a neat and orderly manner. Reports any safetyhazards or equipment in need of repair to supervisor and/or Facilities.Maintain correct amount of supplies. Is knowledgeable on correctchemicals used for different pathogens. Replenishes paper, soapsupplies, hand sanitizer. Hangs cubicles/drapes according to departmentpolicy. Special project assignments, including coordinating specificssuch as; contacting affected departments to advise of upcoming project(i.e. construction projects, wall cleaning, drapes, changing cubicles,window washing, etc.), and post informational signs. Moves furniture,supplies and equipment as requested adhering to departmental safety andlifting procedures. Seeks assistance when in doubt. Responsible forproperly mixing and storing chemicals to achieve correct dilution ratio.Uses proper personal protective equipment including safety goggles whenneeded. Reads directions carefully and asks supervisor when in doubt.Uses wet floor signs, etc. to block off work area. Makes beds inaccordance with specific area needs. Is knowledgeable and can identifyvarious bed types. Utilizes bed tracking phone/pager, places bed in EPICand removes when bed has been completed. Responds to phone/pager callfrom supervisor within 5 minutes. Reports phone/pager problems tosupervisor. Logs out of EPIC. Ensures dismissal rooms are ready for thenext patient. Uses Xenex UV Light robot for specified rooms whereavailable. Returns soiled and clean unused mops to department and placesin proper containers/areas. Adheres to all applicable regulations andstandards. Adheres to proper handling, transport and disposal of allwaste types, including but not limited to: hazardous, infectious,sharps, confidential, recycling, regular trash, universal. Complete DOTCertification in order to package and transport regulated medical waste.Asks supervisor or lead when in doubt. Education and Experience Highschool graduate or equivalent preferred.
