Your Opportunity
Stantec is currently seeking an intern for its Richmond, Virginia, office to provide technical support on a variety of projects. This position will be part of Stantec’s Environmental Services team that provides the full range of expertise needed to address a variety of regulatory, ecological, engineering, and environmental planning issues.
Your Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Engineering support could include design, CAD drafting; GIS processing, project documentation (i.e. report preparation, water quality calculations, drainage area delineations, hydrologic calculations, file organization, etc.); construction observation, attendance at client meetings and various project-related tasks.
Assist staff conducting research.
Conduct fieldwork on a variety of sites.
Prepare other project documentation as required.
Track the processing of incoming and outgoing project documents.
Assist Project Managers in the management and implementation of various environmental projects.
Performing other duties as requested.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Minimum of one year of college education in environmental sciences or an engineering field.
Preferred candidate is familiar with AutoCAD and MS Office software.
Candidates must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Strong detail orientation and ability to organize and prioritize a diverse array of assignments and duties.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Self-motivated and ability to work independently and with a team.
Enjoys both fieldwork and office work. This position will primarily work in an office environment, with the potential for partial work from home, working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
