Description: Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) has an immediate opportunity for an Environmental Safety and Health Engineer located in Manassas, Virginia. This position will provide a range of environmental, safety and health services across the site while also supporting teams in various locations.

The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership in implementing the elements of the Environmental Management System (EMS) and managing various corporate ESH Programs. They must also possess the ability to understand and manage ESH matters with a clear comprehension of their role within the business operations. A strong track record of personal and team accomplishments related to OSHA and EPA compliance, ISO/OHSAS, injury/illness prevention and project management will be valuable to create enduring relationships with customers and ever evolving culture of High Performing Teams.
The position is tailored to an experienced individual with a strong background of Industrial Hygiene methodologies, Principles of Applied Ergonomics with a focus on manufacturing, and a degree of understanding Laser systems from use, design, and fabrication would complement this role.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
•Experience with OSHA, safety and health standards, EPA, state and local environmental regulations and programs.
•Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
•Skill in working independently and following through on assignments.
•Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and be flexible.
•Ability to work effectively within a diverse population and collaborate with peers and leadership.
•Minimum requirements include, but not limited to, Lifting and Carrying up to 40 lbs and Pushing/Pulling of up to 75 lbs. and working from elevated platforms such as ladders as they relate to investigations and root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Desired Skills:
• Professional ESH experience in a manufacturing, test, or industrial environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, and Environmental requirements, regulations and associated compliance programs.
• ESH experience in subject areas such as industrial safety, material handling, NFPA Life Safety Code, lock-out-tag-out, and hazard recognition and other industrial safety programs.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment
• Ability to ensure regulatory compliance with minimal direct supervision.
• Strengths in customer service and cooperative teaming, and a demonstrated capability in managing multiple projects/tasks effectively prioritizing tasks and work load, and ensuring timely closure of assignments.
• Ability to develop new and innovative methods to increase employee awareness of, and engagement in, ESH compliance programs/initiatives promoting a strong ESH culture across RMS while taking the initiative to challenge the status quo.
• Apply ergonomic principles to improve cultural awareness of the risks associated with improper workstation design and enhance the understanding of proactive measures.
• Knowledge and working history with Lasers and relevant systems.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
