Become an Environmental Risk Assessor Senior Advisor in the Environmental Department at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll join the Environmental Risk and Assurance team responsible for maturing and implementing, SCE's environmental management system (EMS). You'll act as lead for the risk assessment function for an ISO-14001 aligned EMS to ensure compliance and operational risks are identified, evaluated, and mitigated effectively. This role involves serving as an environmental risk assessment expert, executing a risk analysis process that provides valuable insights into environmental compliance and operational risks, and collaborating with stakeholders and risk experts to ensure precise risk identification and mitigation, thereby enhancing the EMS's continuous improvement.

Develop and implement a risk assessment process to identify and evaluate compliance and operational risks that may impact the environment Analyze information relevant to environmental internal controls, compliance assessments, and adherence to regulatory and internal requirements to inform risk assessments Work collaboratively with environmental professionals implementing the EMS to understand interdependencies that will impact the risk assessment Proactively analyze data quality and consistency related to risk assessments and develop recommendations to improve assessment process Lead engagement with stakeholders to provide subject matter expertise and recommendations in the area of risk assessment Communicate risk assessment results and provide expert guidance to key stakeholders to inform the development of controls and other methods to reduce environmental compliance risk
Qualifications
The essentials
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience involving risk assessments or risk-based environmental compliance management
The preferred
Bachelor Degree in environmental, engineering, or related technical discipline Experience developing and leading risk assessments Experience assessing compliance and operational risks, understanding environmental compliance, and using data to quantify risks and opportunities for continuous improvement Experience working with multiple environmental compliance disciplines Experience presenting results to peers, clients and leadership teams and leading discussions using strong communication skills Risk assessment certification (CRMA, CRMP, GRCP, PMI-RMP, etc.) Proficient with MS suite applications including excel and experience using risk, compliance, or quality management tools (e.g., Enablon, SAP, RSA Archer, etc.)
You should know
This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
