Your Opportunity
As an intermediate Assessment and Permitting team member, based in Saskatoon, Regina, or Winnipeg, you will provide support to all stages of a project’s lifecycle including environmental assessment, permitting, and construction and post-construction support. Projects will include small to large-scale provincial and federal environmental assessments for the power and energy, infrastructure, oil and gas, transportation, and mining sectors.
Our staff members have established excellent working relationships with regulators and clients across Canada, and our regulatory knowledge, environmental assessment experience, and scientific expertise allow us to help our clients develop the most effective approach to securing regulatory approvals and achieving permitting compliance.
With a working knowledge in federal, provincial, and municipal jurisdictions, you will be joining a multidisciplinary team in Environmental Services at Stantec who works closely with our discipline specialists (e.g., ecosystems, water resources, cultural resources, and site investigation and remediation teams). We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, accountable, and has great communication skills to assist with the delivery of high-quality environmental assessments and regulatory permitting submissions and applications. The successful candidate will support on advising projects and clients regarding regulatory requirements and will support the completion of deliverables concerning the regulatory approval processes and compliance.
Your Key Responsibilities
Work in a collaborative team of technical environmental and engineering specialists to support permitting processes.
Provide environmental planning and regulatory support on a wide variety of projects.
Assist project teams in the preparation of proposals and technical documents that support regulatory application development and submission.
Support the identification and assessment of environmental features, constraints, alternatives, potential effects, mitigation measures, and avoidance opportunities.
Liaise with local, provincial, and federal agencies regarding permits and approvals.
Interact with internal business lines, our clients, and regulators.
Comply with health and safety and quality management processes.
Participate in team and independent based work.
Qualifications

Working knowledge of MS Office suite.
Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in the Sciences, with a focus on environmental studies such as geography or ecology or environmental engineering. Master’s degree (or master’s degree in progress) is not a requirement but is considered a benefit. An understanding of provincial and federal regulations and permitting requirements with between 2 and 5 years working in this area is required. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and clean driver abstract.
