You will work with other technicians of varying levels and learn through mentorship or an apprenticeship program (depending on location) beginning as a lube technician, then expanding to brakes, alignment and more. YOUR QUALIFICATIONS To be a good fit for the Entry-Level Automotive Service Technician opportunity, you will have: A strong interest in auto repair and maintenance; automotive technical training is a plus A positive attitude and passion for learning and developing your skills General mechanical skills, manual dexterity and the ability to operate power and hand tools, and other types of machinery Knowledge of the automotive repair life cycle Attention to detail with organization and follow-up skills Demonstrated customer service skills Valid in-state driver’s license, and acceptable, safe driving record Ability to operate a manual transmission is a plus THE JOB As an Entry-Level Automotive Service Technician, you’ll perform basic vehicle repairs as assigned and in accordance with dealer and factory standards. You will work alongside other technicians and initially handle maintenance work such as oil changes. Your attention to detail will make you a valuable asset to the team as you ensure assigned repairs are completed on time and deliver top-notch work to delight our customers. In this role, you’ll interact daily with other team members including service advisors, other technicians, parts associates, cashiers, sales associates, and managers. Your specific responsibilities may include: Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards to drive Customer loyalty Communicating with Parts Department and service advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication Conducting multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of Customer vehicles Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order Maintaining an inventory of normal technician’s tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as “special tools” Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate Providing an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty Note: This description is intended to give you a general overview of the position and is not an exhaustive listing of duties and responsibilities.
