Job Description:
This Associate will support the Risk Data & Analytics (RD&A) function, of Mars' Corporate Risk Management (CRM) team, to provide technical and advisory support as a risk management transformational agent to the full enterprise - all global segments and markets. This role provides intelligence to the global business, acting as a trusted internal advisor; appropriately positioned to support risk-based business decision-making and preventative measures utilizing risk data and intelligence through digital means. In doing so the role will work closely with CRM's Operational Risk Management (ORM) function.
Moreover, the position supports RD&A across a portfolio of processes and high-profile workstreams to achieve the goal of ongoing value creation through data-driven risk management optimization. This includes ensuring that risk data and information, analytical processes, and digital tools are managed effectively, driving the success of RD&A's 'Ecosystem' which is comprised of a portfolio of datasets, established programs, and active projects.
The Enterprise Risk and Data Analyst will also support RD&A in governance and project management to remain a best-in-class function, while supporting global stakeholder management working with Associates across all Mars locations.
RD&A's Purpose: Bring together accessible data across Mars to reduce risk and drive smarter decisions, collaboration, and ultimately performance.
What are we looking for?
Minimum of a bachelor's degree, preferably in Information Systems, Business Management, Finance or equivalentProject management experienceExperience with Excel and utilizing data analytics tools (i.e., Power BI, Tableau, etc.), is desirableFamiliarity with coding languages such as R, Python, etc., is desirableFamiliarity with risk management systems and standards, is desirableAbility to work remotely and travel up to 20% of the time where neededApplicants should also:Demonstrate a keen willingness to learn and grow as an internal subject matter expert and key liaison for the RD&A function - to learn concepts over time and to develop and mature within both the RD&A function and partner function, ORMHave a desire and aptitude to work on a multitude of assignments that span the business and its segments, business units and functionsDemonstrate strong organizational skills to meet the complex requirements of the RD&A function, the CRM team, and internal customersBe approachable and dependable to establish and maintain effective relationships through building trust and respect with both internal and external partnersDemonstrate excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to effectively interpret requirements and work independently on own initiativesPossess the ability to quickly identify problems and address through good attention to detail, and be comfortable with escalating questions or concerns as appropriateBe able to demonstrate good judgment and program management capabilities
What will be your key responsibilities?
Ecosystem Support:
Support core Ecosystem project workload (e.g., data collection, review, admin, general stakeholder support, etc.) and coordinate key operational projects and underlying data management workflow activitiesIdentify opportunities to connect and optimize current risk programs, both within and beyond RD&A and CRMParticipate in key meetings and discussions with principal responsibility for the associated program related dataDevelop strong and cooperative ways of working with critical internal stakeholder groups across the business to identify and understand the needs for business risk and analytical support and provide specialized counsel - building the RD&A 'brand' along the wayMonitor RD&A priorities in conjunction with Mars Global and Segment strategic activities and business needs
Analytical Analysis and Reporting:
Employ the Ecosystem to develop value-added measures and synthesize risk-driven insights for business intelligence use through the promotion / delivery of a risk reporting and analytics capabilityUtilize digital tools and data analytic methodologies to provide insights and recommendations supporting a world-class risk-data analytics program to Mars Inc.Enhance the Ecosystem business intelligence capabilities, such as: identifying commonality, considering new and emerging trends, improving overall risk awareness, generating new KPIs for business risk and management performance, supporting capital investment decision-making, etc.Support the Business Risk and Intelligence Insights Manager in the execution of risk-driven insights and intelligence dissemination to senior stakeholders
Data and Systems Management:
Implement and maintain data management processes and governance for the success and maturity of the Ecosystem, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and availability of mission-critical dataManage the information change management process and coordinate with subject matter experts to facilitate data updates and controlMaintain underlying systems / digital solutions, ensuring that digital database(s) run as smoothly as possibleMaintain general awareness, functional attentiveness and development/enhancement tracking of program technology and 'digital' initiatives to optimize the level of effort and resources required to engageIdentify opportunities to enhance and align current risk program data for future opportunitiesSupport the broader CRM data governance and oversight needs to include Risk Management Information System (RMIS) data, systems management and administration in coordination of the respective CRM business owners
Knowledge and Learning Management
Coordinate technical content and knowledge management processesResponsible for ensuring easy access and upkeep of digital platforms for the storage and retrieval of information and relevant content to support RD&A partnersFacilitate individual and group communications to promote program awareness in available digital formatsSupport RD&A knowledge management and communication strategy
Other:
As needed, support the administration of Mars' Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program and related business risk management initiativesSupport the oversight of strategic vendor relationships (3rd party to include quality control, contractual compliance and continuing alignment with overall RD&A objectives and guidelines
