JOB SUMMARY
The Enterprise Data & BI Product Owner will be responsible for setting product backlog priorities, envisioning epics, creating features and user stories as part of a data product team delivering against the company’s data roadmap. This position requires a data-driven individual with strong leadership and technical skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Managing a data analytics/BI product team while actively leading an enterprise data strategy
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop the vision and strategy for the product, define product roadmaps, prioritize features, reports, and drive the successful execution of data-driven solutions
Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of industry trends, leading practices, and insights to inform decision-making
Gain deep expertise about current data stores, environments, and processes
Define the structure, templates, and processes for a successful Power BI implementation
Identify and design datasets and data pipelines for efficient data management
Collaborate with other teams to ensure data accuracy and integrity
Partner closely with our business stakeholders to understand their data needs and success measures/KPIs in order to define and develop initial dashboards
Provide self-service access to certain data to enable our business users to make faster data-informed decisions
Oversee the implementation and upkeep of a data catalog (Microsoft Purview)
Implement appropriate data governance processes for software products and analytics
Maintain and extend enterprise-focused data stores (data warehouse, compliance data)
Maintain and extend enterprise-focused operational reporting (day-to-day reporting, compliance data)
Manage and extend enterprise-focused integrations (within Pulte Financial Services and across our affiliated companies)
Champion mortgage industry standards (e.g., MISMO, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac) where appropriate
Conceptualize the future growth and technology roadmap in support of data and analytics
Discover, define, manage, and prioritize backlog of data product features by working with various stakeholders
Translate business needs into well-defined user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria
Prioritize features and enhancements based on business value, strategic alignment, and priorities
Maintain and manage the product backlog, ensuring it is well-organized, prioritized, and regularly groomed
Adapt the backlog based on changing business needs and emerging insights
Establish mechanisms for collecting feedback from stakeholders and users
Utilize feedback to refine product features and continuously improve product quality
Contribute to Pulte Financial Services’ positive, trusting, inclusive culture and team-first environment
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Science, Computer Science or related is preferred.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
At least 8 years’ experience in information technology with a background in software development, as technical product owner, or data programmer analyst
Extensive knowledge and experience with Power BI or other widely used data visualization solutions
Highly self-motivated and directed with strong sense of curiosity and drive to accomplish goals and lead data product team
Passion for data and data quality
Experience with API and integration concepts
Experience with XML, SQL, relational databases, and large data repositories
Experience with setting up and maintaining data catalog/lineage concepts (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Alation)
Experience with planning, big picture, strategic thinking, and program organization aimed fast delivery
Exceptional verbal and written communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders including executive and senior leaders
Excellent leadership and people skills, experience working with various teams, influencing, and getting buy-ins in various situations.
Analytical mindset and skills with the ability to translate complex business needs into actionable product features and user stories
Experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, and a track record of successful product delivery
Mortgage industry experience is highly valued; knowledge of the MISMO reference model is beneficial
Salary Range: $115,000 to $125,000 annually depending upon experience.
This position is also eligible for an annual bonus based on the successful completion of defined performance objectives.
