KPMG is currently seeking a Enterprise Data Architect (Audit Function) to join our National Audit Technology organization.
Responsibilities:Develop and maintain the Audit function enterprise data architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with the organization's overall business goals and objectives; partner with the KPMG Enterprise Architecture group on firm-wide architectures and data standardsDesign and implement data models, data flows, and data integration solutions to support the company's data-driven initiatives; work with business stakeholders, data analysts, and data engineers to gather requirements and define data architecture solutions; create and maintain data standards, and best practices to ensure data quality, security, and complianceCollaborate on the architecture design of data storage and retrieval systems, including databases, data warehouses, data lakes and data lakehouses; architect and define data transformation and ETL processes to enable efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading across various data sourcesPartner with data governance team to identify and resolve data-related issues, such as data quality problems, data inconsistency, and data integration challenges; evaluate and recommend data technologies, tools, and platforms to support the evolving needs of the organizationWork with IT and security teams to establish data security protocols and ensure data privacy compliance (for example, GDPR and CCPA)Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies in data management and recommend their adoption to enhance the data architecture; provide guidance and mentorship to data architects and other team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and developmentQualifications:Minimum eight years of recent experience working as an enterprise data architect in a large-scale, complex organizationBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; Master's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred; relevant certifications in data management and architecture such as Certified Data Management Professional, Azure Certified Data Analytics, and TOGAF are a plusStrong knowledge of data modeling techniques and tools like ERD, UML, Data Warehouse design; proficiency in data management concepts, particularly data warehousing, data lakes, data governance, and data integrationExtensive experience with database technologies (for example, SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, and Spark), data warehousing platforms (for example, Azure Databricks and Microsoft Fabric), and data integration tools like Informatica; familiarity with cloud-based data services and solutions including AWS and AzureExcellent understanding of data security and privacy regulations and their implementation in data architectures; strong problem-solving skills and the capability to think strategically about data architecture and solutionsEffective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and senior management; project management experience and the ability to lead data architecture initiatives from concept to implementationApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
