Job Summary
The Email Enterprise Administrator role is to assist in planning, design, support, implementation, and troubleshooting for the enterprise email infrastructure. This position requires the ability to prioritize and handle multiple issues simultaneously; work independently; excellent customer service skills; ability to troubleshoot technical issues using remote sharing tools; participate in on-call rotation for emergency response; and work after normal office hours or on weekends when required to service infrastructure that cannot be serviced during normal office hours. Errors may cause significant disruption to operations, or major costs.
This position will be filled at either the Intermediate or Senior level, commensurate with the successful candidates experience and education at the discretion of the hiring leader and business needs.
The position is based in the Richmond, VA or Cayce, SC office.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Implement, maintain, and support company messaging system
Ensure operability, capacity, and reliability in the enterprise environment
Provide quick diagnosis and resolution of email problems and issues
Assist end users with email problems and features
Provide support of the back-end servers and systems that provide email functionality. This includes diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing issues related to email to ensure optimal performance of the operating email environment.
Act as a project work team or group leader on complex projects
Guide and advise less experienced group members
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Enterprise Administrator 5+ years or Senior Enterprise Administrator 7+ yearsof messaging administration orrelated experience.
Expert understanding of client/server infrastructure
High proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, & Project
Organizational skills
Technical writing
Essential Functions:
Assess incoming support tickets to determine the email issue root cause and resolution
Prioritize and act on tickets, server alerts, & assigned project tasks, keeping each updated with status
Troubleshoot email technical issues until resolved & escalate to team or vendor for additional assistance
Participate in on-call rotation for production systems emergencies
Make suggestions for client & server training materials to reduce recurrence of issues
Interface with various internal support teams and software providers to resolve end-user or company issues
Build servers and install server software to support the email infrastructure hardware and software upgrades and patches as required
Create PowerShell scripts to complete tasks as needed
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Math or Business or equivalent job experience.
Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description
Professional certificationin messaging desired.
