Job Description
As an Engineering Technician you will operate tooling and perform laboratory tasks to support Semiconductor failure analysis engineers and service request activities. Failure analysis laboratory technicians provide a broad range of support for Engineers that require an array of laboratory tool usage and skills. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner with experience in failure/root-cause analysis on passive and IC’s (integrated circuits).
Responsibilities
• Conduct Visual Inspections using optical, NIR and IR microscopes.
• Conduct X-Ray imaging and analysis including 3D CT (Computed Tomography) imaging
• Conduct C-SAM (Scanning Acoustic Microscope) analysis
• Conduct electrical IV Curve trace
• Soldering/ de-soldering of electronic assemblies
• De-capsulation (Mechanical, Chemical)
• Mechanical cross section and parallel lapping/polishing
Required Experience and Skills
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Manual dexterity, attention to detail, organization, and patience while often working with small ICs and detail-oriented tasks
• Must possess excellent skills in problem solving, team-work, and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communications.
• Capable of taking direction from multiple individuals and accomplishing tasks successfully
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Desired Experience and Skills
• Associates in Engineering or Science discipline (Physics preferred)
• Understanding of semiconductor process highly desired.
• Previous experience working in a semiconductor failure analysis lab preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience in electrical component testing
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $59,600 - $104,100 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
