As an Engineering Project Manager within TJX Corporation's Logistics Engineering team, you will be the leader in designing, procuring, and building the material handling systems for TJX's distribution centers supporting our TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Homegoods, HomeSense & Sierra stores.
Responsibilities may include designing material handling equipment utilizing AutoCAD, along with leading project installation, vendor assessments, procurement, flow analysis and any additional ad-hoc projects.
Note: This position can be remote. (Atlanta, GA | Phoenix, AZ)
Work with DC business partners to address operational concerns within the Distribution Centers. Using a flexible/process improvement mentality to improve existing systems and procedures, increase efficiency, add capacity, and resolve problems from issue identification through resolution.Develop short and long-term capital strategy to support DC volume growthCoordinates all aspects of each assigned engineering project from inception through the final stages of the project, including design, vendor sourcing and selection, financial management, schedule development, installation, communications, and startup.Researches all historical data available, evaluates existing systems to estimate critical timing sequences, projected construction costs, Distribution Center space needs, systems expansion and subsequent equipment needs.Find creative solutions to ensure all material handling equipment installations are performed in a timely manner and minimizes disruptions to the Distribution Center or other company operations.Investigates "groundbreaking" technologies to evaluate whether new concepts are applicable or beneficial to The TJX CompaniesMentors Project Engineers and lead special projects, where needed.Leads capital projects up to $100 million or more in total cost
Who We Are Looking For: You.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Industrial or Mechanical)6+ years' of Engineering & Project Management experienceExperience with material handling systemsDistribution Center/Retail experience preferred.Experience with AutoCAD DesignUnderstanding of work methods analysisDetail oriented, strong organizational and conflict resolution skillsAbility to balance multiple projects and changing priorities and work independently as well as in a team environmentProject Management experience leading teamsNegotiation/influencing skills and strong communication skills40%-60% Travel is required
