Your new role:

　　In this pivotal role, you'll be instrumental in your team's success by providing leadership, managing the team, nurturing talent, and encouraging an environment of innovation in engineering. Staying informed about evolving technology trends and mentoring Engineers for excellence in their roles are vital aspects of your responsibilities.

　　Your scope involves supervising engineering delivery, ensuring quality, and promoting Agile practices to deliver outstanding solutions. You'll also drive strategic goals, offer technical guidance, and mentor your team, emphasising craftsmanship and compliance with architectural standards. Additionally, you'll contribute to departmental best practices and maintain a DevOps environment, including on-call duties.

　　Furthermore, you'll take the lead in feature design and development, advocate for cutting-edge technology, produce high-quality code, and construct reusable, well-maintained solutions. Collaborating closely with the Product team, you'll help craft the product roadmap and serve as the chief architect within your product team.

　　Who we're looking for:

　　A superb & hardworking Software Engineering Manager who will lead an agile team to push the boundaries on engineering brilliant solutions and contribute to crafting our new future. We require that you have the energy and passion to deliver using a whole range of technologies and have a detailed understanding of engineering principles. We also anticipate you assume leadership and manage a team of Engineers. As a minimum, we expect all our Engineering Leads to have: Highly proficient in technical leadership & Strong focus on delivery management. Building robust and resilient systems & demonstrate how the web works starting at the request through to the response. Proficient in the use of design patterns and frameworks such as MVC or Spring. Strong experience of Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery & Agile practices. Solid understanding of major browsers (including dev tools) and platforms (Linux, AWS) Quality first mind-set for writing code using techniques such as TDD, BDD or Agile. A robust knowledge of security principles and writing secure code. Good understanding of asynchronous systems and messaging Commercial experience in an e-commerce background and A/B testing Good experience in both cloud & container technologies such as AWS & Kubernetes.
