  DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn this internship, you will gain knowledge in various emerging transportation technologies such as automated vehicles, connected vehicles, and electric vehicles, performing tasks such as report writing, grant application, research, strategic planning, updating websites, and creating PowerPoint presentations.

  This internship will allow you to develop your technical skills, apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects, and work alongside engineering professionals who are passionate about innovation and excellence.

  Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.Compensation is credit based:Up to 48 credits - $20.3549-90 credits $20.7891-120 credits $21.22You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONSStudents who are interested in a PennDOT internship must meet all of the following requirements:Full-time enrollment in college (carrying 12 or more undergraduate credits, or 9 or more graduate credits) or Part-time enrollment in college (registered for a minimum of six credits).Enrolled part or full-time for the next semester by the start of the internship in an applicable major.In good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher).Must be at least 18 years of ageCompletion of the first year of a two-year associate degree or four-year bachelor's degree program.Special Requirement: Certain positions require a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.Additional Requirements:You must be able to perform essential job functions.Preferred Majors:Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.If you do not meet these requirements but are still interested in a summer position with PennDOT, please see the Student Summer Worker job posting to explore additional job opportunities.
