The Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Data Analytics and Integration team is looking to hire Engineering Data Scientists in Everett, WA.
Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Experienced or Senior Level Engineering Data Scientists.
Candidates must have knowledge in fields such as machine learning techniques, text analytics, advanced statistics and artificial intelligence. They will need experience developing end-to-end analytics solutions. These skills will be used to solve challenging problems centered on engineering production data and a predictive value stream. The Engineering Data Scientists will work together with cross-functional teams to determine, define and deploy data analytics to meet business objectives, investigate and apply best fit methods and algorithms, validate results and perform necessary data preparation and enhancements to models.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidates will be required to work onsite in Everett, WA.
Position Responsibilities:
Modifies and analyzes complex data sets using analytics techniques such as machine learning, statistical analysis, mathematical optimization and simulation. Identifies modeling attributes and parameters. Applies algorithms to create descriptive, predictive or prescriptive models to achieve analysis and project deliverables
Investigates data characteristics, complexity, quality, and meaning. Through visualizations and summarizations, defines performance, identifies trends, outliers, and drivers
Prepares data for analysis, e.g. cleansing, conditioning, transforming, handling missing fields, identifying new feature variables and handling multi-variate data
Identifies or leads teammates in determining best-fit data science methodology (statistics, machine learning, optimization, simulation) given the data and business applications
Performs procedures in evaluation and validation of correctness of complex models and end-to-end deployment solutions. Leads evaluation and validation of team's execution of models and analysis
Develops analysis requirements given standard to complex business objectives; determining decision support needs, data and performance requirements, and fit-for-purpose solutions
Monitors production and deployment with client teams. Determines decision support visualizations and reports, algorithms, models, dashboard, and tool documentation and training requirements

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelors of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in data science, machine learning, applied statistics, mathematics, computer science or engineering
5+ years of experience in data science or analytics
5+ years of experience in database management, programming, statistical modeling and/or machine learning (SQL, R, Python, JMP, Tableau, etc.)
5+ years of experience in performing statistical analysis
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in commercial aviation business or engineering
Experience working with analytics technology stacks; Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Teradata, etc.
Typical Education/Experience:
Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Level 5: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: (Experienced, Level 3): $121,550 - $164,450
Summary Pay Range: (Experienced, Level 4): $142,800 - $193,200
Summary Pay Range: (Senior, Level 5): $165,750 - $224,250
