Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s Technical Engineering Support Teams analyze, test and assist in research for the development of products and processes. Team members may specialize in quality control or assurance, chemical manufacturing processes, metals, electrical connectors and components, process development, materials, and/or instrumentation. They may also handle calibration, displays, network control, mold development and audiovisual work or environmental health and safety. The Technical Engineering Support Teams are responsible for the completion of assigned engineering projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines. They plan, prioritize, and manage multiple engineering projects; prioritize tasks and assign team members to ensure that the team's overall resources are used effectively and that project deadlines are met. They evaluate and authorize changes that significantly impact the scope, budget, or timeline of a project. At times, they may work directly with customers to understand needs, gather customer requirements, identify resources and assess project risks. They create, develop, plan, write and edit operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for paper, multimedia or web-based publication, for non-technical and technical users.
Role Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic apprentice to join our Advanced System Architecture (ASA) team within our Aerospace Defence and Marine (AD&M) business unit.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a group of subject matter experts who understand customer architecture and TE capabilities to support our customers with concepts, prototyping and testing. You will have the opportunity to work alongside and learn from a team of experienced engineering professionals whilst studying part-time at college for a higher/degree level qualification.
As a member of the engineering team, you will gain experience in polymer formulation design, compounding, and operating various polymer processing equipment, such as Intermix, extruder, and injection moulding machines on a laboratory scale. Additionally, you will perform product testing and write working procedures.
Candidate Requirements
To fulfil the role of Engineering Apprenticeship, you should have an A-level / BTEC in a science or engineering discipline.

Minimum of A-level / BTEC in science or engineering discipline.
A strong aptitude in engineering/problem-solving.
A passion for technology, the will and motivation to learn new skills and commitment to personal development.
A good team player with a can-do attitude and a good communicator.
Ability to work in a multicultural, dynamic engineering team.
Understanding of new product development and scientific research methods, particularly in polymer science
General knowledge of laboratory equipment and usage.
Work closely with Lead Engineers, Product and Project Managers and Operations to successfully deliver new product development projects.
General knowledge of personal computer and office software.
