It will involve coding in ‘C’ and ‘assembly language’ within a resource constrained multi-processor environment.
Right candidate shall be required to primarily contribute to all aspects of platform development. Candidate will require to familiarize himself with existing code deployed on earlier variants of the chip and further enhance or fix customer reported issues around the platform. Knowledge of peripheral interfaces such as USB or SDIO in addition to knowledge of serial peripherals would be very useful in this role. Candidate would also be responsible for investigating, analysing and fixing defects related to embedded system peripherals and resolving system issues on multi-layered software interfacing with other sub-systems within the chip or with hosting chipsets.
Candidate will need to take ownership of a project components and would be responsible for delivering the firmware software on timescales agreed with group leader/programme manager. Candidate is expected to work with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Ability to multitask in a paced environment.
Capability to comprehend and capture accurate requirements.
Define tasks and create work breakdown including estimation of tasks.
Ability to prioritize requests and communicate priorities.
Develop and test software of major scale and complexity to agreed timescales.
Maintain firmware software components including defect investigation.
Conduct software peer reviews.
Create relevant documentation following the department’s processes.
Track hardware changes and understand impact on firmware.
Design firmware components that require to be enhanced and adapted to existing design.
Deliver high-quality firmware in line with the department’s processes.
