You willbe developing, implementing, and revising manufacturing methods andsequences utilizing best fit manufacturing standards all in order todeliver Snap-on quality tools to our customers on time and withinestimated budgets. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible forproviding manufacturing support through various manufacturingengineering disciplines. In this role, you will ensure products areproduced in accordance with proper processes, methods, and routings allwhile ensuring quality, cost efficiency and conformance with safety ®ulatory standards. The Manufacturing Engineer designs, implements,and revises methods of manufacturing, production process sequences,machines, and the tooling that provides manufacturing solutions. As ourManufacturing Engineer you will also prepare cost estimates and routingsfor new products and processes. Responsibilities Evaluate both new andexisting tool designs. Develop detailed layouts for the appropriateequipment, processes, and workflow necessary to accommodate plantmanufacture of select product. Manage/maintain item setup documentation,item life cycle reporting, BOMs, and routings. Estimate item cost, leadtimes, and provide manufacturing quotes. Coordinate production planningwith Purchasing, Planning, Engineering and Operations departments.Establish/setup new suppliers/subcontractors required for outsourcingand maintain established supplier relationships. Provide technicalsupport by investigating & troubleshooting; perform root causeinvestigations and implement steps for resolution of production relatedengineering issues. Ensure the continued effectiveness of existingproduction equipment assets by implementing and maintaining a TotalProductive Maintenance (TPM) Program. Research new manufacturingtechnology and equipment & identify areas that could benefit from itsimplementation. Analyze and validate solutions using measurement andstatistical methods. Provide financial justification and timelines ofimprovement projects. Plan and organize efficiently to see that they arecompleted as scheduled. Initiate and maintain an active continuousimprovement project docket and oversee kaizen workshops & new equipmentsetup, including process development & documentation and personneltraining in operation, maintenance, and safety. Assist with thedevelopment and maintenance of a manufacturing quality managementsystem.
