Assemble, install, troubleshoot, repair, test, calibrate and maintain electro-mechanical equipment and systems. Inspect and/or test electronic and mechanical parts and components to drawing tolerances and written specifications. Ensure continued external customer satisfaction with products by providing high quality and timely service and repair of electromechanical systems and products.
What will you do?
As an Engineer, you will be delivering routine service activities for the Unity Lab Services Chromatography Service group.The duties include analyzing and reviewing inspection findings to resolve source of problem, and recommend repair, replacement, or other corrective action as well as analyzing system chemistry and use instrument reports to diagnose technical or application problems.You'll work with specialists, engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repair and primarily focus on delivering Preventive Maintenance, Installation- and Services repairs within the subregional West team for the purpose of achieving the highest levels of customer satisfaction via Customer Allegiance Score (CAS).This is a dedicated field-based role supporting our customers on-site on a wide product range, but mainly focusing on GCMS-related equipment and drive quick resolution by providing accurate and timely maintenance and qualification visits. One way we measure performance is by striving for the lowest repeated call rates post-maintenance.This role is Customer-facing, working in conjunction with other ULS teams and Sales colleagues.You'll use customer management software to review service calls, handle parts inventories, and complete job tasks.Display an affinity for listening to the customer, reviewing their documents, and inspecting the instrument to resolve nature and scope of problem is the core function of the role.
How will you get here?
Must have strong interpersonal and effective communication skills, showcasing a strong ability to read, interpret and analyze component layout drawings, schematics, assembly drawings, wiring and labeling diagrams.Quickly diagnose and resolve problems on mechanical, and chromatography-mass spectrometer instrumentation in a laboratory environment.Employ basic instructional abilities to provide customer familiarization instruction.Prioritize clinical customer requirements and establish realistic schedules to meet requirements and produce clear, detailed, and concise documentation and customer reports.Work independently and as part of a group, to accomplish individual and team objectives as well as resolve routine customer concerns while providing service support to key customer sites in the assigned region, traveling to others on an as needed basis.Responsible for managing individual field Inventory.Ability to safely lift 50lbs with assistance on occasion and carry 25-30lbs continuously throughout the day.Ability to bend, squat, stretch, and reach daily in a service function.
Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:
Achieved a Bachelor's degree in Sciences, Engineering, or Electronics, or 3+ years equivalent work experience requiredHave least 2+ years of hands-on experience servicing analytical equipment gained either as an Engineer, application specialist, or working as a scientist in a laboratory requiredDisplay an ability to travel throughout the region and to other regions to assist as needed required, with 25% travel on average within the region.
