Role overview
We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join our People & Talent Team to foster positive relationships between employees and the organization. Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources Business Partnering, this role will play a crucial role in managing and resolving workplace issues, promoting a healthy work environment, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant employment laws. You will collaborate closely with leaders in the company, but must also be able to work autonomously, adapting to change while making decisions quickly in our fast-paced environment. This high-impact role will drive fact-based decision making and with a bias for action, will propel the CarGurus talent strategy forward.
What You'll Do
Address employee concerns and grievances, providing guidance and resolution in a fair and consistent manner.Conduct investigations into employee complaints, allegations, or conflicts, maintaining confidentiality and impartiality throughout the process.Collaborate with management to develop and implement effective employee relations programs and initiatives.Interpret and apply company policies, ensuring alignment with legal requirements and best practices.Provide advice and support to supervisors and managers on employee relations matters, promoting proactive problem-solving.Contribute to the development and delivery of training programs related to employee relations and workplace conduct.Stay informed about changes in employment laws and regulations, and update company policies and procedures accordingly.Mediate conflicts and facilitate communication between employees and management to enhance workplace relationships.Monitor employee morale and engagement, recommending strategies to improve overall job satisfaction.Assist in the development and implementation of disciplinary actions when necessary, ensuring consistency and fairness.Partner with HR professionals to address broader organizational issues and promote a positive company culture.

What you'll bring
5-8 years of experience working as an Employee Relations Specialist with an ability to foster positive relationships between employees and an organization.Proven experience in workplace policy and process creation, corrective action, conflict resolution, and workplace investigations.Strong understanding of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility at all organizational levels.Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities.High level of discretion and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
