We are looking for an Employee Communications Specialist to join the Employee & Executive Communications team at Microsoft Australia and New Zealand, based in Sydney for a 12 month contract.
The Microsoft Australia & New Zealand (ANZ) Employee & Executive Communications team provides strategic communications advice to the business, building and protecting Microsoft’s brand and reputation by influencing the internal narrative about Microsoft and its role in ANZ.
We do this by:
Curating and telling the Microsoft story
Stewarding company news and announcements, both local and global
Developing and executing communications campaigns, including partnering with the marketing function to execute integrated marcomm strategies that support our business objectives
Building employee advocacy, understanding of and passion for our products and our company so that employees feel part of the wider Microsoft ANZ community; that they believe in our strategy, direction and leadership; and view the company as an environment where they are able to make a difference and be themselves
Listening to, monitoring and informing conversations and opinions to help shape employee perception of Microsoft
Responsibilities
We are seeking a communications all-rounder with excellent writing, graphic design and project management skills to join our team.
As the Employee Communications Specialist, you will be required to:
Support the Employee & Executive Communications Manager on the tactical execution of the communications plan
Specific responsibilities will include curating and enhancing our employee comms channels including MSW (intranet); Viva Engage (social and collaboration platforms); our weekly employee newsletter, and ensuring they are kept up to date with fresh content aligned to our business priorities and aspirations
Support with video and content production as well as logistics support for employee events such as All Hands and our annual employee kick-off; as well as ad hoc executive visits
Support the executive and employee comms manager in developing internal communications campaigns and materials aligned to our business priorities and culture
You will work with the comms team to ensure we are making the most of social/digital channels to amplify stories about Microsoft, our products and services
You will support the team with monthly reporting and measurement and ad hoc desktop research requests
You will support the comms team by working across multiple agency partners on ad hoc special projects
Qualifications
We're looking for someone with:
3 years of proven communications experience ideal, although we may consider less for the right candidate.
Creative, enthusiastic and have an eye for detail
Strong technical/functional skills including solid writing skills, experience as a content creator and curator, proven comms program/project delivery, active social media engagement and experience working with Microsoft products including Sharepoint and Viva Engage (formerly Yammer)
Good graphic design skills (Microsoft Designer, Photoshop, InDesign or similar)
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and flexibly as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to manage competing priorities
Proven track record of cross-group collaboration and contributing to a team’s success
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Degree level qualification preferred, but not essential
