Your Responsibilities
As a Embedded Software Engineer with Intelligent Solutions Group , located in Urbandale, IA, you will be a member of an embedded development scrum team working with multiple stakeholders to build and implement functionality for John Deere agricultural equipment such as Section Control, In Field Data Sharing, Data Sync. In addition, you will:
Collaborate with Systems Engineers, Software Architects, and other teams in the John Deere Tech Stack to design, develop, and test software for a broad spectrum of Deere equipment with a focus on Precision Ag.
Operate in a scrum team environment on varying projects with direction from project leads.
Provide product support and defect triage of those system(s).

What Skills You Need
Practical experience in embedded software development using C++, Python, Java, or other Object-Oriented languages
Experience in design, development, and testing software applications
Understand real-time operating system and multi process/thread concepts
Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a distributed team environment
Ability and experience working in a self-directed mode
What Makes You Stand Out
Demonstrated understanding of Object-Oriented Principles
Demonstrated understanding of inter process communication and multi-threading
Practical experience in QT and QML
Experience with J1939 CAN protocol and MQTT
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
