About the Job: Ideal candidate will help bring ownership for a Temperature Controlled product lines. In this role, candidate will work closely with global sites to ensure that Change Management within this portfolio achieves a maturity. Will ensure right design metrics are put in place driving design leadership is demonstrated in numbers. As part of early leadership would engage with different Division leaderships to deliver cross pollination of ideas & knowledge.
Role Purpose Summary:
The FPGA Engineer - III is a member of a global R&D Team. The role is of a hands-on Electrical/Electronic engineer who is motivated to actively improve value of the new design and update of existing products. The person will play key role in designing & implementing the systems, be involved from idea to product launch/update and own the design aspects and address all technical challenges including regulatory certifications.
Roles & Responsibilities
Conceptualize, analyze & implement system design and programmable part (FPGA/CPLD) design from selecting parts to subsystem designPerform reviews on design concepts, component selections, trade off analysis and resolve technical challengesWork with cross function team to gather requirements, perform system / subsystem design. Finalize electronics design requirement by reviewing with systems & global engineering teams. Provide design options & tradeoff analysis ensuring compliance to requirementsBuild and review the design documents and verification plan mapping to all the requirements including key performance & reliability requirements.Ensure the design performance to meet the design objectives, efficient in aspects of Manufacturability and Serviceability, and achieve the cost/reliability target.Work with multi-functional team to ensure design and form-factors meet regulatory, safety, environmental, reliability, thermal and interface standard (Ethernet, USB, etc.) compliance requirements..Continuously learns and grow technical depth and knowledge across product lines.
Candidate Educational & Professional Experience Requirement:
Masters or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics engineering, or related field or equivalent.Over 10+ years of robust experience in hardware design and development in embedded system design with 8/16/32-bit microprocessor design
Proficiency Requirements
Must Have:
Mixed-Signal Design Experience, Microprocessor / FPGA ExperienceExpert in using the FPGA development tools including synthesis, place and route, simulation, timing closure and debug tools.Experience in Memory Interface, High Speed Ethernet, USB and other communication protocolsExcellent understanding of PCB design, electronic schematics, and their functionalitiesConsistent track record in developing and debugging sophisticated instrumentation systems and firmware (controls, sensors, automation, robotics, firmware, device communication, etc.)Proficient in scripting, debugging, optimization tools, and unit testingExperience in Verilog/ VHDL, code optimization & reducing latencyExperience in use of existing IPs or develop something totally from scratchStrong understanding in alternate design analysis/part substitute for cost out ideas and obsolescence management including design analysis for quality, reliability, power consumption, timing parameters etc.Should have good knowledge on the compliance requirement & should support product regulatory compliance testing including EMC/EMI, CCC, UL, RoHS, etc.Proficient in debugging instruments (digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers);Experience in practices for Design for Test (DFT), DFR and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) background.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills.In-depth knowledge of Software & Firmware Engineering principlesAgility to work on multiple simultaneous projects, tasks & programs to suit business needs
