As a "Intern -Post Quantum security",you'll be exploringthe feasibility of protocols that incorporate algorithms selected by NIST for Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC) on low-bandwidth mesh networks such as Thread ( or Matter running on top of Thread).

What you'll do
You will work closely with experts in IoT security field to:Studyhow Key encryption and Digital signatures using PQC can be incorporated in (upcoming) protocolsExplorethe feasibility of these protocols in the context of constrained networks, such as Thread and Matter.Develop aproof-of-conceptprotocol exchange between (embedded) devices on such a network.Perform simulations/experiments on the PoC to quantify aspects such as time taken to complete a protocol exchange, fragmentation, performance over multiple hops, performance over small, medium and, possibly, large networks.(Optionally, but good to have) publish findings at an appropriate venue.Your qualificationsFinalizing a Bachelor or Master in Electrical/Computer engineering or related field.Available for4 to6 months to work on thethesis/internship.Passionate to explore and learn new technologies.Good knowledge of embedded software (C/C++) and constrained networks, such as Thread, Zigbee, etc.Knowledge ofPublic Keysecurityprotocols and certain aspects of PQC, such as length of public keys, ciphertexts would be good.Creative mindset with curiosity to think out-of-the-box.Our candidate profile is just a guide.
