Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Electronic Technician 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation Organization. This position will be located in San Diego, CA .
In this role you will be using detailed engineering drawings to fabricate and repair complex cables and wire harnesses, construct server racks and build various test equipment. The selected candidate will also implement engineering changes to systems as required and work closely with Engineers to maintain a System Integration Laboratory (SIL) environment.
Responsibilities include:
Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform routine testing, checkout, troubleshooting, prototype building, environmental testing, and simple developmental engineering tasks.
Utilizes routine development or diagnostic equipment including oscilloscope, DVM, signal generators and similar test apparatus.
Normally assigned in area such as development, engineering, test equipment design, or the like.
Performs routine operational tests and fault isolation on development systems and equipment to ensure conformance with design specifications.

Basic Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related Electrical experience in a trade school or military technical school
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD SECRET Clearance
Some exposure to using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital volt meters (DVM)
Applicant must be able to pass in-house solder and cable crimp and harness classes
Applicant must be able to read and understand basic wiring schematics
Preferred Qualifications:
Active DOD SECRET or TOP SECRET Clearance adjudicated within the last 5 years
Familiarity with wire harness fabrication and use of the hand tools required

Salary Range: $53,000 - $88,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
