Job Description:
The Electronic Security Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electronic access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV systems for a variety of customers. This position will work under limited supervision in customer facing environments.
Essential Functions:
Working knowledge of electrical circuits, wiring, and electrical troubleshooting.
Using hand and power tools.
Utilize provided work van, tools, and test equipment.
Operate independently and utilize troubleshooting methods to understand and act towards correcting system issues.
Accomplish tasks and move from one worksite to another often between different installations in the Hampton Roads area.
Work in interior and exterior spaces with the use of ladders and lifts, validating all safety requirements prior to performing work.
Working knowledge of network communications, software configuration, and IP addressing.
Ability to obtain Lenel OnGuard certification through virtual courses.
Effective communication with both team and customers regarding technical topics.
Limited OT opportunities. Able to work morning hours with rare occasional weekend and holiday service calls.
Strong troubleshooting acumen.
Qualifications:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of experience installing and maintaining electrical systems to include wiring, connectorization, and testing OR 2 yrs post Secondary/Associates Degree with 0-2 years of experience installing and maintaining electrical systems to include wiring, connectorization, and testing.
Valid Drivers’ Liscense with clean driving record.
Must have a Secret Clearance with CAC at the time of hire.
Familiarity with Lenel OnGuard system.
Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Lenel OnGuard certification or similar certifications such as Bosch.
