Position Title : Electronic Developer/Engineer
Hours : Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 Hours/Week
The pay range for this position is $65,500 - $112,400. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
Summary of Duties :
Develop hardware and firmware for printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA's) while reviewing, testing, and debugging the design under the guidance of Senior Engineers. Troubleshoot embedded systems and solving the issues in a real time environment. Circuit schematic design, PCB layout, and bench level test of industrial controller redesign. Work with hardware and software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and review them for accuracy. Develop Internet protocols (IP) and the interface to the hardware systems. Perform complex bench level tests pertaining to the development of new designs, methods, and processes and investigate possible application of results. Analyze the technical information needed to accomplish complex tasks, such as: Preparation of reports, charts, graphs and other documents. Review and approval of circuit designs and layout specifications obtained from other technical employees. Apply knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures for the hardware design. Coordinate with other engineering groups to arrange for the production of complex designs and experimental test runs. Utilize a product lifecycle management (PLM) system to find alternatives for the electronic components and initiate Engineering Change Request for the printed circuit boards (PCBs).
Qualifications :
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field and two (2) years of experience as an Electronic Developer/Engineer, Drafter or an acceptable alternate occupation. Employer will alternatively accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field. The position requires experience with the following: basic circuit design; PCB design software; knowledge of firmware design such as VHDL; knowledge of integrated circuit design (large-scale integration VLSI). Skills can be gained concurrently or as part of a graduate degree course of study.
