Job Description
Day to Day:
The electrical project manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and implementation of electrical projects. Their day-to-day responsibilities include:
* Coordinating with contractors and other team members to ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner
* Communicating with clients to keep them informed of project status and potential issues
* Managing the bidding process for projects to ensure that they adhere to company standards
* Ensuring that all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations
* Preparing detailed project plans and schedules for crews to follow
* Reviewing blueprints and schematics to determine feasibility of projects
* Managing the budget for projects so that costs are controlled and within limits set by the client
* Ensuring that all team members are properly trained to perform their jobs safely and efficiently
* Acquiring permits and licenses for all projects; ensuring inspections are handled correctly and timely
* Assuring timely completion of project close-out including completion of the punch list, submission of accurate as-built drawings, operations manuals, and other administrative requirements
* Participate in project progress meetings with owner, general contractor, subcontractors, and vendors
* Actively participate in industry, client, and community relations to enhance company image
They are also expected to assist less experienced Project Managers and act as a mentor for Jr. project manager, project engineers, and project coordination
Skills and Requirements
Must Haves:
* B.S in Construction Management and Engineering or equivalent combination of education and technical training in electrical contracting
* Handled yearly portfolio budgets of 1 million dollars and up independently
* 5 years in the electrical construction industry, 3 years in a project management position
o Understand electrical codes and terminology
o Handled change orders and managed project schedules
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Accubid and Spectrum Plusses
* Electrical Certifications
* CAPM or PMP Certification null
