Maritime Operations within Mission Technologies - Nuclear & Environmental Services, is looking for an Electrical Engineer 2 to join the team in Newport News, VA.
Electrical Engineers in the Maritime Operations group play a crucial role in supporting various functional areas at Newport News Shipyard. Maritime Operations alongside Newport News Shipbuilding builds the most advanced ships in the world, such as nuclear-powered Aircraft Carriers and Submarines, and our engineers are an essential part of this effort.
Electrical Engineers may be involved in electrical design or power distribution in both nuclear and non-nuclear applications. Electrical Engineers are involved in providing engineering and technical support for the construction, testing, and operations of propulsion and reactor plant components.
What You Will Do
The role involves researching, developing, designing, and testing electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks.
Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for designing electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
What You Must Have
Candidate is required to have either:
Two (2) years relevant experience with a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering;
Or zero (0) years experience with a Masters in Electrical Engineering.
Candidate must have successfully completed an undergraduate Electrical Engineering degree from an ABET accredited program.
Candidate must have experience utilizing industry-current Engineering design and analytical or modeling software.
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Candidate must be a U.S. citizen.

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
