CRI is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer who is interested in joining a team of autonomous, hands-on, and curious individuals working in a dynamic environment with other electrical, software, and mechanical engineers. Each project at CRI is unique, allowing our engineering team to use their multifaceted skills to see projects from start to finish.
Core Responsibilities of the Electrical Design Engineer:
Design and develop complete circuit boards that integrate mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.Work with Project Managers, Business Development, and external customers to fully understand product and project requirements, develop cost effective and innovative solutions during the design phase.Work with vendors to create and test functional prototypes of new products, component changes, and design improvements.Perform product verification and validations according to the defined design inputs and product specifications.Develop requirement specifications for printed wiring assemblies and electronic components.Perform electronic hardware development tasks like functional decomposition of requirements, creation of architectural block diagram, component selection, detail circuit design, and worst-case circuit analysis, test case and test procedure development, and formal circuit performance verification to ensure compliance to all performance and environmental requirements.Perform failure analysis, root cause determination, and corrective action implementation.Write reports, specifications, correspondence, and procedures.Ensure products comply with and are certified to applicable specifications and regulatory standards.Perform schematic design and analysis of electronic circuits.Other functions as assigned.
The Ideal Electrical Design Engineer Will Have:
S. required; preferably in Electrical Engineering
10-15 years of professional applicable experience
Experience in lieu of degree may be considered
Familiarity with MIL-Standard testing, qualification, and fabrication requirements for land and airborne applications (MIL-STD-704F, DO-160, AC 43.13-1B) and the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70)
Electronics design of analog, ARM Processor, FPGA, communications (Ethernet, I2C, SPI, CAN), AC and DC power systems, and EMI/RFI filtering and transient suppression
Proficient in software tools including Solid Works, Altium Design, 3D CAD modeling and Microsoft Office applications
Mechanical design experience a bonus
Familiarity with SolidWorks a bonus
Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
Problem solving, data analysis, deductive reasoning and critical thinking skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in light metal fabrication, soldering, and connector/wire-harness fabrication is beneficial.
