Early intervention (EI) is the fastest growing platform in DePuy Synthes North America portfolio and is comprised of buy and bill biologics as well as novel non-surgical solutions in the space of sports medicine and osteoarthritis. With a dedicated sales team and entrepreneurial spirit, the EI team has developed a high reaching and results oriented culture and is seeking to add leaders that are self-starters, motivated to win and projectable to assume increasing responsibility within the organization. This team fits into the broader Sports Medicine platform which is part of the North America DePuy Organization of Johnson & Johnson.
The DePuy Synthes Account Executive will be responsible for securing and defending access coverage of DePuy Synthes Early Intervention (EI) portfolio of products in their assigned payor accounts. The Account Executive will need to be fully entrenched in their account and access “eco-system” (local advocacy groups, IDNs, policy decision, MAC coverage, SPPs, KOLs/P&T etc.) by building and leveraging relationships with key decision makers and influencers that impact access & reimbursement coverage of the EI portfolio.
The Account Executive will be responsible for delivering the EI value proposition that includes clinical, health economic, market landscape and budget impact information. In addition, Account Executives will be responsible for rebate contract negotiations with their assigned plans and Dupuy contracting/pricing teams during bid cycle or class reviews. The role will also be responsible for seamless communication and integration with the field sales team by ensuring offensive pull-through opportunities are maximized and defensive access levers are executed flawlessly. The role will also need to educate internal DePuy stakeholders and collaborate effectively with Jansen AE and SCG colleagues. Travel expectations are approximately 50%.
Responsibilities:
Delivery of Early Intervention (EI) Value Proposition tools against EI Market Access goals and tactics.
Secure, defend and optimize payer access and reimbursement for Early Intervention portfolio for assigned plans ensuring patient access to products.
Develop and nurture relationships with decision makers and influencers in plans and appropriate eco system stakeholders
Utilize customer insights to develop account business plans and monitor/refine strategies
Negotiate with payers keeping in mind the fiscal responsibility/discipline of EI portfolio
Continuously partner with brand marketing team to advise on future and immediate responsibilities. Immediate responsibilities include: 1) Pull-through messaging strategies by channel (Commercial Payer, CMS, SPP, HUB services, etc.) 2) Develop of physician payor mix dashboard
Align with field sales on strategic priorities
Dependent on Account Executive background and experience, they will serve point for additional responsibilities (develop, monitor, educate internally) that include one of the following or more: Value Proposition Development (Clinical, RWE, Budget Impact, Market Dynamics, etc.), Policy changes (National or State level), Reimbursement/Billing Lead, HUB Lead and Pricing Lead
Monitor competitive environment with a high level of awareness of customer behavior, coverage decisions, policy changes, reimbursement, health care mergers/acquisitions, partnerships, value based care, competitive contracts etc..
Liaise with patient/& provider advocacy groups, state level societies and local KOLs (i.e. Ortho, non-surgical sports, Rheumatology)
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required
Previous payer or health systems experience preferred but not mandatory
Minimum of 7 years of healthcare industry experience is required.
Experience in sales, marketing, market access, payer relations, account management is strongly preferred.
Buy and Bill/Biologics/Reimbursement experience in the pharmaceutical or device sector is a plus
Self-starter, entrepreneurial & thinking out of the box mindset
Has demonstrated leadership and the ability to network effectively with internal team (sales force, pricing, contracting, health economics, medical affairs, analytics, etc.) & external executive decision makers/influencers
Strong negotiation and account management skills
Excellent communication (communication, listening and social) skills
