EHS SPECIALISTDETROIT, MICHIGAN - LEAR GRATIOT PLANT
As a member of the Environmental Health & Safety team, the EHS Specialist will be responsible fordriving the plant's environmental, health, safety & ergonomics programs in order to provide a safe working environment for all employees. In this role, you support department and plant goals as established, participate in continuous improvement activities and the high performing work team model.
The Role:Your work will include, but not be limited to:Assist in administering the plant level and corporate safety policiesProvide and or coordinate any necessary training and development to salaried/hourly workforceSchedule and manage external and internal health and safety system auditsMaintain OSHA-300 log, first aid log and worker's compensation employee files
Environmental Management System (EMS)Function as ISO-14001 Management Representative and manage the EMSLead plant ISO-14001 team and recycling effortsMinimize the plant's impact on the environmentProvide and or coordinate any necessary environmental related training to salary/hourly workforceSchedule and manage external and internal ISO-14001 system auditsManage record keeping activities for audits, meeting minutes, training, etc.Make an annual (or more frequent) report on the status of the Environmental Management System

Your Qualifications:Four-year college degree and/or equivalent experience in occupational health & safety.Three (3) years' experience working with ISO-14001, working knowledge of OSHA/MI-OHSA standards and worker's compensation employment and labor laws.Well-developed verbal and written communication skills as well as ability to interact with all levels of the organizationOSHA Compliance, 30-Hour Certification card or certificate.
