Responsible for providing necessary meals/snacks, adhering to dietary regulations and restrictions and managing the kitchen at the assigned site at Kohl’s Child Development Center (CDC), Kohl’s on-site childcare. Executes the day to day activities of running the kitchen for an assigned site from timely preparation and delivery of meals, inventory management to kitchen sanitation for an assigned CDC.
ACCOUNTABILITIES FOLLOW KOHL'S AND CENTER POLICIES AND PROCEDURES, AND STATE LICENSING RULES AND REGULATIONS AS IT PERTAINS TO MEAL COORDINATION AND EXECUTION
Provides timely preparation and delivery of meals – snacks and lunch to all classrooms as per the schedule, dietary requirements, allergy substitutions and in the right proportions
Manages the kitchen activities from washing dishes, cleaning and organizing the kitchen
Manages the kitchen inventory by tracking available stocks, rotating stocks to reduce wastage and placing orders to stock inventory
Maintains and upholds standards of kitchen sanitation, food handling procedures and nutrition are met including but not limited to all Kohl’s and State rules/regulations
Participates in menu ordering, order creation and placing orders
Contribute new ideas and recipes for menu planning
MAINTAIN NECESSARY CERTIFICATION TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES
Ensures necessary documentation around First Aid and Infant/Child CPR with AED training is met on a bi-annual basis
Participates and fulfills annual training requirements in kitchen sanitation, food handling and nutrition
Attend all staff meetings and recommended/required training
PROVIDE QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE TO OUR CUSTOMERS AT EACH INTERACTION
Work well and maintain open communication with all vendors, CDC staff, managers and business partners
Work with parents on any menu substitutions for their child
Greet parents and children throughout the center
Assist with parent and staff education and questions as it pertains to the menu, licensing regulations, portions, etc.
Work with teachers and committees to coordinate cooking and special snacks for special events
Supports cooking curriculum in accordance with WMELS standards and Creative Curriculum at the assigned site
ADDENDUMOVERSEE ALL OPENING AND CLOSING PROCEDURES
Open the building which includes checking voicemails, adjusting schedules and coordinating associate coverage
Oversee drop off and pick up process - ensure Wellness screenings are running smoothly, accompany children to and from classrooms while answer any questions from parents
Close the building which includes keeping track of children exiting and overseeing dismissing teachers for the day as classrooms get into ratio
Follow any and all necessary policies in the event of an emergency
QUALIFICATIONSREQUIRED
Knowledge of proper food handling, nutritional standards, preparation, safety and sanitation
Strong math and reading skills
Effective decision-making skills
Detail oriented
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and interact effectively with others.
If hired, Drug Screen, Health Exam and TB test required
PREFERRED
Legible handwriting.
Experience with CACFP Meal Pattern requirements
First Aid and Infant/Child CPR with AED training
Shaken Baby Syndrome Certified
Child Abuse/Neglect Certified
Customer service experience
Regular attendance is key to performing the job

Ability to travel from Site 1 to Site 2 to Summer Camp when applicable
Able to lift 40lbs
Standing, sitting, squatting, bending, twisting, walking and moving at a fast pace
Flexibility within hours of operation
