Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, a similar field, or equivalent practical experience.
10 years of experience in a CPA firm, law firm, corporate tax department, or a relevant role.
Experience with one or more of the following: tax credits, worldwide fixed assets depreciation, or accounting method changes.
Preferred qualifications: Advanced degree in Taxation or CPA or a relevant field.
Understanding of income tax compliance and accounting including exposure to ASC 740.
Ability to work with cross-functional business partners and internal tax teams at all levels.
Ability to discuss and explain complex tax matters with tax specialists and non-tax with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong technical tax skills with emphasis on Subchapter C and consolidated income tax regulations.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $153,000-$235,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Responsibilities
Research, advise, and document Alphabet's U.S. income tax positions and procedures related to business activities, accounting method changes, changes in federal tax law and tax planning strategies. This includes partnering with our accounting team to understand and monitor changes to the accounting treatment. Manage special projects/studies related to R&D credits, other credits, fixed assets, cost segregation studies, methods, and other income tax projects from advising, risk assessing, planning, execution, to audit defense. Advise on tax implications and analysis for tax planning, collecting and reviewing reporting packages, meeting with finance teams and keeping the tax teams informed regarding their business activities. Lead best practices, information flow, and alignment for the domestic tax planning team with larger tax team. Execute SOX controls and processes including maintaining the FIN 48 calculations and technical documentation for domestic issues.
