The North American Domestic Payments and Receivables Head will be responsible for driving the build out and execution of our strategy around our core payment and receivables products including ACH, Wires, Cash and Check as well as for 3 specific products for a Public Sector client. These products combined generate $450MM annually. This person will need to have an in-depth understanding of how own product proposition contributes to achieving the objectives of the North American Payments organization. Having a good understanding of the industry, direct competitors' products and services, is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas. Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy. Full management responsibility, including P&L management, performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations.
Responsibilities:
This a senior role which is part of the North American Payments Team, with ownership of product strategy, product positioning, business management, sales enablement, and partnership/alliance development and management.
This person will be responsible for driving the alpha growth strategy and drive innovation to continue to grow market share in the region
Lead strategic product roadmaps, product development, program launches, and program marketing to gain maximum benefit from each product, as well as survey and analyze competitive industry landscapes to identify relative trends, threats, and opportunities
Drive client value propositions, positioning, segmentation, pricing, targeting, channel strategies, and competitive differentiation to achieve preferred status as a partner to Citi clients
This position will have significant senior-level exposure and play a leading role in managing the current portfolio and product set, determining long-term strategy as well as the allocation of investment dollars to execute the strategy both globally and within cluster
The role will also be responsible for Client Experience, defining our strategy and overseeing the execution of the underlying initiatives including identifying client needs, product gaps and looking at end to end experience for P&R products including onboarding and service model
Oversee all aspects of program life cycle management including market demands, technology trends, and the competitive field as well as drive innovation by working with external partners/alliances to develop products, manage ongoing relationships, and prepare agreements
Manage acquisition targets, product financial performance, revenue performance, and expense management goals as well as oversee identification and execution of opportunities and gaps business plans
Will also lead development and expansion of partnerships and alliances within the product ecosystem to create innovative and turn-key solutions between Citi products and other players in the ecosystem
P&L Management (reporting and analyzing financials to ensure goals are being met)
Management will look to this person to be an evangelist for the product both internally and to the marketplace
The successful candidate must be both a leader and a team player, working with regional Product teams, Product Sales and Account Management, and functional teams globally
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
15+ years of experience, including 8-10+ years' managerial experience
Knowledge of industry players and ecosystem, as well as industry networks preferred
The incumbent will work closely with the global and cluster product teams to set and track annual spend and revenue targets, and will be expected to support client discussions to help drive wins, program growth and new deal ramp
Education:
Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
