Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Comptroller's regulations regarding Uniform System of Accounting
Experience with NYS School District Accounting and Reporting manual and application
Knowledge of business and accounting software (ie. Finance Manager/Envision)
Experience as a School District Treasurer preferred
Experience with school district Capital Projects and mandated reporting
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience in the areas of budget planning, preparation, and administration
Knowledge of best practices in accounting and bookkeeping principles
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered four(4) year college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field including or supplemented by a minimum of twenty-four (24) semester credit hours in accounting
Typical work Management of all district funds, including but not limited to: General
Responsibilities: Fund, School Lunch Fund, Special Aide Fund, Trust & Agency Funds, and Capital Fund
Maintaining and balancing subsidiary revenue and expenditure journals, maintain and balance general ledger for each above listed funds. Reconcile bank statements for each of the school funds and provide a monthly treasurer's report to the Board of Education. Acknowledge receipt of all monies and issue receipts as needed. Signatory of all school district checks once internal audit processing has been completed.. Maintain status for each federal fund project, including issuing purchase orders, paying bills and completing monthly/quarterly reimbursement requests. Assist Business Administrator in preparation and submission of the following State Aid forms: ST-3, SA100/19 A&B, ST-129, Capital project Final Expenditure Reports. Assist in preparation of necessary information with regards to Medicaid Reimbursement. Monitor receipts from Medicaid and NYS. Keep detailed records of all transactions involved in a Capital Project/Including but not limited to all expenditures, revenues, and assist in preparation of all reports to New York State and Department of Education. Assist with annual audit by preparing letters, legal bank confirmations, and various schedules; gathering records; closing books; and posting auditor adjusted journal entries. Assist with costing out proposals for negotiations and strategic long-term planning. Transfer funds as need per Board of Education policies. Prepare budget transfer reports quarterly. Prepare monthly trial balance and Treasurer's Report for the Board of Education. Other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or Director of Business and Finance.Job Attachment View Attachment
