The Neurosciences District Manager leads the sales performance and professional development of a team of Account Specialists within an assigned geographical area, that are focused on the BOTOX® therapeutic areas of Chronic Migraine and Movement Disorders (Spasticity and Cervical Dystonia). Supported customer accounts may include community/private practices, community-based hospitals, academic medical centers, military treatment facilities, and Veteran’s Affairs Medical Centers. The District Manager cultivates relationships with key opinion leaders and other identified account stakeholders while also developing internal relationships across other teams, divisions, and departments to maximize utilization and effectiveness of all available AbbVie resources. The Neurosciences District Manager is responsible for hiring, developing, promoting, and managing the performance of a team of 6–11 Neurosciences Account Specialists, who are responsible for the promotion of BOTOX® therapeutic indications within an assigned geographical area.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for assigned geographical district achieving/exceeding the Neurosciences sales quotas and other MBO’s established by management and in alignment with U.S. Sales & Marketing Plans, within expense, compliance, and legal guidelines.
Consistently perform as a leader that exhibits team leadership qualities and executes responsibilities, resulting in the ability to attract talented individuals and develop, inspire, supervise, and retain or promote direct report team members while also influencing/mentoring other individuals throughout the organization.
Continually analyze the team sales and business processes to uncover business needs, then develop/execute a plan that will provide tactical direction, evaluate progress, measure results, and monitor the success of the plan, resulting in improvement of team, regional, and national sales performance.
Collaborate and develop strong professional relationships with key customers and internal partners to ensure that all appropriate AbbVie resources are being utilized to address customer needs and improve sales performance.
Provide direct feedback and manage/facilitate direct report communications/feedback to appropriate corporate partners and departments regarding the execution and reception of marketing and other company initiatives.
Complete knowledge, understanding, and the ability to assess/coach and execute the Chronic Migraine and Movement Disorder, indications anatomy, procedure, and injection trainings.
Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
Minimum of 8 years total business experience in health care, pharmaceutical, and/or biotechnology; with a minimum of 5 years documented history of successful consultative sales experience and minimum of 2 years selling and/or managing within academic medical centers and/or government hospital accounts, including work with residents, fellows, and/or pharmacy managers.
Experience selling and/or managing Buy & Bill, Specialty Pharmacy, Medicare Part B, and Medicare Part D products is preferred.
Proven history of market/business planning to develop a strategy and the ability to successfully execute/lead a team to successfully execute the strategy.
Ability to communicate/present/train/assess and coach technical anatomical (postures, muscle function, muscle attachments, muscle localization), procedural, and clinical information.
Documented history of driving strong team performance with the ability to provide candid and effective feedback, and efficiently manage and develop employees.
Ability to create a culture of winning and full team engagement.
Valid driver’s license: Ability and willingness to meet necessary hospital credentialing/vaccination requirements.
Ability to commit to 50% overnight travel; Ability to travel adequately to cover district territory commitments/co-travels, and attendance at scheduled training events, sales meetings, and other AbbVie events.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements.
US Credentialing Requirement:
An essential requirement of your position is to satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations that are in your assigned territory. You must also be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain these credentials. These HCIR credentialing requirements may include, but are not limited to, background checks, drug screens, proof of immunization/vaccination for various diseases, fingerprinting and specific licenses required by individual state or cities.
