What is a District Director – Project Management?
A District Director is a member of the New Business Services group. District Directors are primarily responsible for project management of commercial/industrial natural gas and electric projects and building and fostering customer relationships. District Directors oversee the Associate District Director in their district.
What does a District Director – Project Management do?
Interfaces with developers, electricians, engineers and municipalities on new gas and electric installations, standards, metering, LED street lighting, tariffs, service classifications, and end use equipment. Provide timely response and a high level of customer satisfaction.
Fulfills the objectives and goals of Central Hudson’s residential and commercial gas expansion initiative, including supervision, marketing, customer identification, customer addition results tracking, and project management.
Resolves customer issues and/or concerns regarding service, rates, billing, etc.
Ensures the appropriate use and control of corporate assets and maintains the highest ethical standards in accordance with our Code of Conduct.
Handles and resolves PSC complaints appropriately, according to tariff, NYCRR, and HEFPA. Responds timely and within PSC required timeframes; avoids chargeable complaints.
Acts as the single point of contact (SPOC) for commercial gas expansion customers and manages projects through to completion. Provides excellent customer service while meeting customer timelines.
Responsible for supervisor on call duties, completes additional assignments, and acts on behalf of other Company supervisors as assigned
Assists during major electric and gas emergency events
Provides support for storm restoration efforts
What does it take to be a District Director – Project Management?
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, project management, communication, or related field and at least 5 years of work experience in customer service, account management, project management, construction management, electric/gas services, utility operations or a related field. Equivalent of education and experience may be considered.
Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and the ability to learn new computer software programs quickly
Strong organization skills and the ability to multitask while scheduling, planning and working on multiple projects simultaneously from inception through completion
Excellent written/verbal communication and negotiation skills and the ability to satisfy customer requests with tact and diplomacy
Must be customer-focused, self-motivated and possess strong decision-making and critical thinking skills
Must take initiative, independently solve problems and follow through on assignments
Strong interpersonal, presentation and decision-making skills
Valid driver’s license
Preferred:
Technical, construction, or natural gas or electric services knowledge/background
Experience working with commercial industrial customers
Experience in the electric or gas utility industry
Account management experience
Experience with utility rates and tariffs
