Distribution Project Engineer
Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities:
Initial expectations are for this individual to perform project work and develop local client relationships. The ideal candidate must be able to effectively lead, mentor, and manage a diverse staff of engineers, designers, and drafters. The ideal candidate will also have experience with the design and operation of advanced systems. Familiarity with distribution design software, both overhead and underground, the National Electric Safety Code, and electrical loading is required. Because the candidate will be expected to deal directly with clients, he or she must have strong command of the English language and possess good written and oral communications skills.
Required Education/Experience
A BSEE, BSEET, BSME or BSCE degree, from an ABET accredited university, preferably with a power option
Prior experience in the utility field is required.
A minimum of seven (7)+ years of experience in the design and operation of overhead and underground distribution lines (4 kV through 35 kV)
The qualified candidate should be experienced with utility standards, joint facilities design, compatible units, and construction package development
Must be able to successfully pass client's background screening process
Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Desired Education/Experience
Professional Engineer certification or ability to obtain one in the state of Texas is required.
Local familiarity is preferred and prior experience with utilities in Texas or along the Gulf Coast is beneficial.
Ability to develop project proposals, work plans, budgets, and schedules is preferred.
