Job Summary
What’s the job?
Operations Manager will manage and oversee all operations at the Winter Haven Distribution Center including the performance, efficiencies, and satisfaction of employees. They will analyze the facilities organizational processes and find ways to enhance employees’ work safety, quality, and productivity. Build operational policies and strategies that keep the organization functioning smoothly.
Lead all Safety Initiatives ensuring employees follow Safety Policies and Procedures including training and documentation. Collaborate with Human Resources Managers to establish recruiting, training, and hiring strategies. Follow Policies regarding Purchasing and Finance/Accounting such as auditing, reporting, and budgeting, to ensure the company stays in great financial standing.
Responsible to create a culture of safety by ensuring required training is complete, educating employees, enforcing safety rules, investigating all accidents, and providing coaching and correction.
Improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices.
Collaborate with other managers in the areas of purchasing, planning and transportation to improve overall warehouse efficiency.
Use metrics to identify trends and create proactive plans for managing warehouse space, resources and properly functioning logistics between warehouses.
Help the organization’s processes remain legally compliant.
Formulate strategic and operational objectives.
Responsible to meet the financial goals of the facility.
Perform quality controls and monitor KPI goals including safety, customer service, and costs.
Develop and maintain training standards for staff.
Find ways to increase the quality of customer service.
Escalate and communicate all warehouse strains to proactively manage warehouse utilization.
Proactively evaluate daily staffing and resource needs and shift resources as needed to maintain a properly functioning infrastructure to the warehouse system.
Fulfill supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Resource for Managing Third Party Logistics Partners in North American; to include Training, Auditing and Troubleshooting.
Required Qualifications
What do you bring?
Bachelor’s Degree and/or 10 years related Logistics / Supply Chain Distribution experience
Strong knowledge of EHS Principles and OSHA Requirements
Quantitative, analytical and computer skills, including: Spreadsheet mastery (MS Excel) and experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) SAP software
Knowledge in inventory control and material management
Project management skills
Good Understanding of Transportation requirements
Strong knowledge of purchasing best practices
Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management
Familiarity with business and financial principles
Excellent communication skills, (verbal, written, presentation)
Proven leadership aptitude

PROBLEM-SOLVING
Ability to utilize available tools, systems, and market knowledge to effectively manage distribution and warehousing costs and consistently deliver cost reductions and service improvements coordinated with the overall materials management strategy
Strong understanding of EHS requirements to affectively keep employees safe, using tools to mitigate risks such as risk assessments, 5S and SMATs ( Safety Management Auditing Technique)
Ability to develop and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure customers receive uninterrupted service during times of crises.
Ability to present complex ideas simply and clearly to all organizational levels
“Big picture” thinking to address top-level concerns
Understanding of financial and budgeting processes and principles
Strong personal and professional judgment
Adaptability to respond quickly to a shifting reality and adjust initiatives and priorities
Organizational skills and the flexibility to jump from priority to priority
