Summary:
The Reality Labs (RL) Platform Display and Optics (D&O) team focuses on moving the state-of-the-art display and optics technologies forward for Meta products, which gives people the power to build community and bring the world closer together. The team is responsible for the technology development and maturation, component design, manufacturing process advancement, and test & integration of display and optics module for all RL products.The Display Hardware team is looking for an experienced and self-motivated Display Technologist to lead and build best in class displays. You will be responsible for the display optical performance verification and development of noble matric metrology and optical performance simulation modeling for our growing VR/MR/AR hardware products. You will lead a close-knit group of display experts working on display component design, validation and system integration to implement the custom and novel component technologies into final products. Your work will change the performance and experience of VR/MR/AR hardware through a close collaboration with both internal and external partners.

Display Technologist Responsibilities:
Serve as a project lead, leading a group display optical engineers to develop state-of-the-art OLED/uOLED/LCD architecture and process to meet display optical and electrical performance as well as MP yield target.
Serve as a project lead, working closely with cross functional partners and display vendors to define display optical spec.
Lead engineering activities on display optical characteristic metrology for validation.
Lead the development of OLED/uOLED/LCD optical customized simulation tool and algorithms to simulate luminance, chromaticity, power and lifetime, etc.
Lead the FACA engineering activities regarding OLED/uOLED/LCD display FOS issues.
Lead Design of Experiments (DOE) with internal teams and external partners.
Manage the execution of display optical design, validation, product implementation and production support activities.
Build relationships with and work closely with industry partners to identify and develop new component technologies for our growing hardware product lines.
Travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the work year.
Minimum Qualifications:

Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, Optics or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of industry work experience in the field of display technology.
3+ years of engineering management experience as manager or as a tech lead.
Hands-on experience in the flat panel industry, OLED device design, optimization, and in prototyping of OLED display technology.
Hands-on experience OLED/uOLED/LCD display optics, physics and characteristics.
Track of record of development and implementation of innovative LCD, AMOLED or other display solutions for consumer electronics.
Communication skills and cross-functional teamwork skills.

Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Optics.
Understanding of display technologies, i.e. TFT, LED, OLED, optical fundamentals, display system, etc.
Experience with OLED optical simulation and OLED stack design.
Experience in thin film process and characterization and in-depth knowledge organic & inorganic layers.
Proficiency of using statistical tools (JMP) and programming languages (MATLAB,) and optical simulators (LightTools) to tackle practical engineering problems.
Hands-on experience in high volume, mass production consumer electronics, display related systems.
Experience delivering OLED MP displays from R&D development based on collaboration with material vendor & OLED device equipment.
Experienced project lead on OLED/LCD device projects from R&D to a mass produced product.
Analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Public Compensation:
$204,000/year to $281,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
