Overview of Job Function:
The Director of Treasury and Risk Management maintains stewardship for financial assets and debt including overall leadership of the cash management, debt management, and investment management functions of the organization and its affiliated entities. The Director ensures the maintenance of corporate liquidity and financial stability. The role develops and manages strategies, operations, policies, and budgets relating to treasury activities. Additionally, the role directs development and revision of financial policies for capital structure, working capital, treasury operations, foreign exchange interest rate risk management, and insurance risk management. The role directs capital markets, borrowing, investing, foreign exchange, treasury operations, financial risk management, and corporate finance initiatives. The Director supervises the maintenance of internal controls designed to safeguard corporate assets and the integrity of its fiscal systems. In addition, they will oversee the organization’s comprehensive insurance and risk management program, assessing and identifying risks that could impede the reputation, safety, security, or financial success of the organization.
Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:
Oversees daily management of cash and debt.
Oversees all back-office support for in-house banking, netting, and pooling.
Prepares consolidated cash flow projections.
Establishes fixed income investment positions.
Assesses foreign exchange risk and implements hedge programs and strategies.
Monitors and prepares loan covenant compliance.
Evaluates capital expenditures, investment activities, and portfolio management.
Maintains and cultivates banking, credit rating agencies, and investment banking relationships.
Provides strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization (i.e., evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions, and/or mergers and investments).
Analyzes and recommends potential alternative financing structures and explains/shows their impact on EPS, balance sheet, tax effects, and financial ratios.
Supports investor relations.
Acts in a lead role in capital structure, debt management, bond issuance, and/or share repurchases to ensure the most efficient use of the company’s capacity and borrowed monies.
Supports M&A activity related to treasury functions, including financial modeling, due diligence, and treasury integration.
Manages global insurance programs and counterparty assurance programs (surety bonds, bank guarantees and letters of credit).
Maintains a system of policies and procedures that impose an adequate level of control over treasury activities and identifies and addresses risks in the organization’s services and departments.
Oversees bank Know Your Customer and other banking regulatory compliance aspects.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required
Minimum of 12 years of experience in finance and treasury
Minimum of 8 years of progressive leadership experience
Knowledge of capital markets, accounting, finance, and tax
Technical experience in accounting standards, procedures, and policies
MS Office Suite experience required, with advanced Excel skills
Excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication skills
Team player with the ability to interact with multiple departments
Successful completion of a background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, SS Verification, as well as credit and drug screening, where applicable and in accordance with federal and local regulations
Preferred Requirements:
CPA and/or MBA degree
Knowledge of financial applications, ERP applications and/or planning applications
Experience with Oracle and Hyperion
