Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
• Program Management:
o Develop and implement the overall packaging and quality strategy aligned with the organization's business goals.
o Collaborate with executive leadership to integrate packaging and quality objectives into the broader supply chain strategy.
o Build out robust program plan cascading strategic initiatives to itemized tactical tasks.
• Packaging Optimization:
o Evaluate and enhance packaging solutions to ensure safe arrival of product to the customer via most cost effective and efficient manner.
o Build out of enhanced standards for packaging based on industry best practices.
o Development of new testing program to track all product meets or exceeds standards for packaging.
o Aid in the selection and management of both vendor and external testing protocols.
o Lead the resolution of packaging and processing issues involving profitability, capacity, product quality, and safety to expand competitive advantage, increase profitability, and enhance quality and safety.
o Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the availability of innovative and sustainable packaging materials.
• Quality Management:
o Establish and maintain a robust quality management system throughout the supply chain.
o Primary point of contact for Sales and Customer Service for customer escalations and root cause corrective actions.
o Define and enforce quality standards, specifications, and testing protocols for all products and processes with product lifecycle.
o Development of both an incentive and penalty-based supplier compliance to ensure strategic targets are being met.
o Collaborate with product development teams to integrate quality and packaging considerations into the new product lifecycle.
o Close collaboration within Supply chain on outbound fulfillment packaging and loading to maximize protection via LTL and Small Parcel networks.
o Be an expert resource to the DC operations on the processes of auditing outbound shipments to ensure standards are being applied across the operations.
• Leadership and Continuous Improvement
o Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation focused on quality within the organization.
o Establish strong cross functional engagement with Procurement, Vendor Management, Merchandising and DC Operations on alignment of packaging and quality initiatives.
o Foster strong relationships with all suppliers to ensure the reliability and quality of all products.
o Implement and champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall supply chain performance.
o Develop, Analyze, and Monitor data and key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Regulatory Compliance:
o Stay abreast of industry regulations and standards related to packaging and quality.
o Ensure that all packaging and quality practices comply with relevant regulatory requirements.
Competencies and skills
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, business, or a related field.
• 10+ years of supply chain quality management experience, 5+ years’ experience in packaging and distribution
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven track record of building, influencing and promoting a culture of quality and improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams in a multi-level organization via creative, innovative leadership tactics that focus heavily on change, adaptability, resourcefulness management.
• Tested analytical and problem-solving skills to create data based strategic and tactical execution plans.
• In-depth knowledge of packaging technologies, standards, industry trends and best practices regarding efficiency, compliance, and effectiveness.
• Direct involvement in the design and implementation of customer focused supply chain quality programs to drive overall customer satisfaction.
• Operational experience with proven ability to lead improvement projects-Experience with implementation and execution of quality programs, Root Cause analysis, risked based mitigation and other quality experiences such as LEAN, DMAIC, Six Sigma
• Strong Project and Program management experience with proven ability to drive cross functional execution of many tactical projects at once.
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced turn on the dime organization.
• Proficiency in relevant regulatory requirements for packaging and distribution.
