We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead our Category Management and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) functions as the Director at our Global Headquarters located in Reston, VA. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that optimize our category management portfolio, drive supplier collaboration, and enhance overall procurement efficiency. As the Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of our procurement efforts and establishing strong partnerships with suppliers to achieve our business objectives. Primary Responsibilities
Category Strategy Development:
Lead the development of comprehensive category strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.Analyze market trends, industry dynamics, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for category optimization.Define and communicate category management objectives, performance metrics, and key success factors.Support the identification and management of relationships with major Leidos partners and their internal stakeholders.Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations.Oversee data gathering, exploration and research into current industry trends, publishing the results to a wide technical, executive audience.Regularly participate in new business proposal activity related to the category areas.Supplier Relationship Management:Provide governance of the Leidos Alliance Partnership Network (LAPN) and expand the portfolio of suppliers beyond digital modernization companies. Deep integration with the Leidos Business Groups, Office of Technology (OOT), Solution Architects, Business Development and Strategy to solidify and nurture supplier relationships resulting in investment, winning technical solutions, and "differentiated go to market" opportunities.Drive impactful engagement and strategies on major capture opportunities having significant outsourced content.Build and nurture strong relationships with strategic suppliers to foster collaboration, innovation, and value creation.Establish and maintain a structured Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program, conducting regular supplier performance reviews, and identifying areas for improvement.Collaborate cross-functionally to align supplier engagement with business needs, ensuring that supplier capabilities support our growth strategies.Team Leadership and Development:Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to a high-performing team of category managers and supplier relationship managers.Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and encourage professional growth and development.Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement within the category management and SRM functions.Data-Driven Insights and Analytics:Leverage data and analytics to inform category strategies, supplier performance assessments, and decision-making processes.Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of category management and SRM initiatives.
Basic Qualifications
Typically requires a BA/BS or equivalent experience and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or master's with 10+ years of prior relevant experience.Generally, has 7+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.Strong knowledge of technology OEMS and channel partner interdependencies.Excellent negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to drive cost savings and optimize supplier relationships.Executive presence and a strong business acumenStrong management and leadership skillsMulti-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.Develop company policies related to subcontracting and procurement and provide guidelines for procurement staff to follow.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of the FAR and DFARSDemonstrated ability to develop effective relationships internally and externally.Strong communication skills, both written and verbalComfortable working with executives and representing functional plans and priorities to senior leaders.Ability to travel up to 20%.Frequent participation in offsite supplier meetings to include coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and organized events.
Preferred Qualifications
Accomplished supplier relationship manager or category managerSignificant capture experienceBackground in supply chain, IT, operations, production, and manufacturing.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $128,050.00 - $231,475.00
