Position Summary:
The Director, Supply and Demand Planning manages the company’s Supply and Demand Planning functions for manufacturing plants and distribution centers. This position provides the highest product availability and service to internal customers while minimizing the landed cost to the distribution centers. The Director, Supply and Demand Planning develops performance measures and objectives for world class supply chain execution, monitors performance against objectives, and delivers performance as planned. This position supports top line revenue growth and minimizes waste by directing life cycle planning for new SKUs and packages as well as products to be discontinued. The Director, Supply and Demand Planning communicates and collaborates with sales, manufacturing, transportation, and distribution center partners to drive improvements in supply chain performance.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
Lead the supply planning and demand planning functions for manufactured and purchased product distribution
Provide developmental leadership and opportunities to the planning team
Communicate frequently and broadly to internal supply chain team members
Create, monitor, and share reports for network planning KPIs i.e., Out of Stocks, Days of Supply, Inventory Turns, Forecast Accuracy, Produce to Schedule, Ship to Schedule, and Out of Network Sourcing, etc.
Develop and execute change management plans to achieve KPI improvement objectives
Direct weekly production planning cycle for manufacturing plants including collaboration with manufacturing plant team members to minimize cost of production
Collaborate regularly with manufacturing plant team members who procure the raw materials to accomplish the production schedule
Direct daily execution of finished goods deployment scheduling
Direct purchased product scheduling process
Collaborate with transportation, manufacturing plant, and distribution center partners to manage capacity constraints and maximize product availability
Minimize landed cost by selecting lowest cost path for hub and spoke distribution of purchased products
Collaborate with manufacturing plants and distribution centers on master planning to accomplish scheduled downtime and build inventory around instantaneous capacity constraints
Direct weekly demand planning process to support supply planning requirements
Collaborate with company and North America Operating Unit (NAOU) sales partners to collect customer package promotion intelligence at the local and national level in support of demand plan model
Coordinate and maintain ordering process with other Regionally Producing Bottlers who are sourced by producing facilities
Minimize product obsolescence associated with excessive produced or purchased inventory versus forecasted demand
Minimize landed cost of produced products by analyzing and selecting best production center to support each SKU by distribution center
Collaborate with transportation team on lane rate impact to analysis
Direct cross-functional Life-Cycle planning for new and discontinued SKUs
Other projects or duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree, 10 plus years of supply chain planning in a manufacturing environment and 6 plus years of people leadership experience or HS Diploma/GED, 13 plus years of supply chain planning in a manufacturing environment and 7 plus years of people leadership experience
Ability to mentor and develop team members
Strong organizational and prioritization skills
Excellent problem solving skills
Excellent analytical skills
Change management experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to connect with all levels of an organization
Supply chain planning business system experience
Proficient Microsoft Office Skills, i.e., Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.
This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Master’s degree
Planning experience in a Food or Beverage manufacturing environment
APICS certification
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
