Your New Role...
The Director, Sales & Retail Business Development is responsible for elevating Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products' (WBDGCP) North America positioning at retail and driving sustainable consumer products revenue growth at Walmart stores, as well as managing the Sales & Retail Business Development team located in Bentonville, Arkansas.
Your Role Accountabilities...
Financial Responsibility & Personnel Management
Responsible for annual financial targets; quarterly reporting, forecasting, and gap analysisBuilds and drives development of account plan, annual long-range plan, retail strategies and revenue goals Executes & drives retail and eCommerce strategies/initiatives that deliver financial goals & incremental volume. Establishes and owns key retail Merchants, Marketing & Licensee relationships Determines, manages budget and advertising publicity trade spend to drive sales of retail program initiativesTeam Leader of key meetings: Joint Business Planning meetings, Studio Swings,Top to Top meetings in collaboration with Walmart Merchants/Marketing, Licensees & WBDGCP Teams Resonsible for personnel management and development of Walmart Sales & Retail Business Development TeamManages team travel and expense budget
Retail Strategy, Planning & Development
Responsible for having strong knowledge of Walmart corporate strategies, initiatives, eCommerce and industry trends Drives deliverables at retail utilizing knowledge and understanding of Warner Bros. Discovery corporate initiatives, strategic plans, brands, and franchisesAnalyzes WBDGCP-Walmart physical and digital business to develop objectives, growth strategies, and market share Identifies and develops new business strategies outside of traditional licensing categories with an entrepreneurial approach Aligns and collaborates with Franchise, Creative, Product DevelopmentMarketing, Category, Retail Analytics teams for retail go-to-market initiatives and strategies Collaborates with the WBDGCP Retail Marketing team to develop comprehensive online-to-offline marketing plans against priority programs at Walmart Builds and drives 18-24 month planning calendar for Walmart, defining the everyday core business and key merch moments across brands and franchisesLeads ongoing weekly, monthly, and quarterly merchant, licensee and retailer meetings
Program Selling & Implementation
Leads, manages and drives account specific retail and eCommerce initiatives, promotions, campaigns and events in partnership with internal stakeholders & licensees to maximize sell-in and sell-through of products Presents and develops high quality retail presentations leveraging franchise strategies, consumer insights, and market trends that support the Warner Bros. Discovery brands and franchisesManages third-party vendor relationships on retail program executionResponsible for Analysis and Post Mortem on all Walmart programs, ROI
Qualifications and Experience...
Work Experience
At least 10 years experience in retail-related buying, product development, and/or sales at a manufacturer, retailer, or licensor requiredAt least 10 years sales and marketing experience in the toys, softlines, hardlines, consumables, or e-commerce industries requiredDemonstrated team personnel management experience required
Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification
Bachelors degree requiredMBA preferred
Knowledge/Skills
