What you'll do
The Hearst Real Estate & Facilities Planning group is looking for a Director of Project Management and Strategic Planning responsible for overseeing and managing interior renovation projects and FF&E procurement nationwide and oversee the strategic space planning for the New York HQ. This individual will be responsible for aligning the company's real estate assets with its overall business objectives, driving operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and strategic growth.
Responsibilities:
Project Management Provide project management and oversight of interior office renovation projects nationwide. Oversee and manage the local 3rd party Project Managers as required. Develop Standards for Project Management, including guidelines and forms for all construction projects. Review and update as needed the Hearst Design & Construction guidelines. Evaluate and implement construction project management systems at Hearst. Identify and hire local Project Management Services where needed for projects outside of NYC. Manage the Selection, Bidding process, and Negotiation for service contracts, including but not limited to Project Management, Architectural, Engineering, and General Contractor. Anticipated domestic travel 10-20% Strategic space planning Develop short- and long-term planning at Hearst Tower and Sheffield to ensure business units have the appropriate space and workplace to satisfy their program needs. Routinely report and recommend blocking and stacking changes based on known and/or anticipated organizational changes. Liaison with all business units to gather information needed for strategic planning. Oversee the space management system. Manage the overall space allocation system (WISP and Office Space) to ensure proper accounting chargebacks for the Tower and Sheffield. Coordinate office moves/adds/changes. Review and implement improvements for a robust Change management system to efficiently manage internal office moves/add/changes, and configuration. Work closely with Human Resources, Facilities, Technology, and other groups to execute moves/add/changes and configurations. Manage third-party installers and movers, and other required trades needed for any move/add/change. Oversight and management of Furniture inventory in NYC. Review and manage the master furniture inventory Oversight and management of Furniture procurement nationwide. Review and manage the FF&E procurement in the US. Work closely with architects and furniture distributors and manufacturers on the specification and purchasing of all FF&E related items required for a project. Responsible for reviewing and approving all FF&E orders. Work with Executives and user groups on furniture selections and procurement. Assist is finish selections and recommendations. Explore opportunities to leverage master service agreements to improve quality and reduce costs. Who you are:
Bachelor's degree or more in Architecture, Interior Design, Strategic Interior Planning, Project Management, or related field 10+ Years of Experience in Corporate Interiors, Project Management or related Expertise in layout, color, lighting, materials selection, custom furniture, and all installations. Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or other design programs, eg. Photoshop, & project management programs, Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.Required Skills/Abilities:

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.In accordance with applicable law, Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in New York City. The reasonable estimate, if hired in New York City, is $150,000-$170,000. Please note this information is specific to those hired in New York City. If this role is open to candidates outside of New York City, the salary range would be aligned to that specific location. A final decision on the successful candidate's starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education.
