General Summary:
Qualcomm is a leading supplier of integrated wireless audio chips to the personal and shareable audio market which forms Qualcomm's Voice & Music business unit. This fast growing segment is increasingly important to the overall phone experience and is of strategic importance.
Qualcomm is looking to hire a Product Marketing Director based in North America. The successful candidate will be responsible for both driving new business at our North American customers using our hardware and software products, and global leadership of our audio ecosystem strategy, including Snapdragon Sound.
This is an exciting opportunity to not only work closely with a number of large tier 1 technology and audio OEMs, but also drive the next generation of audio experiences building upon Snapdragon Sound. Having recently launched our new S7 Pro Sound Platform with micropower Wi-Fi, we are looking for a candidate with the strategic vision and drive to help us transform the audio market.
You will report directly to the Senior Director of Product Management who leads the Voice & Music business, and work closely with the following:
Marketing and product management teams across Qualcomm, including mobile, connectivity, automotive and IoT businesses
Senior leadership, including Business Unit GMs up to the CEO
Engineering teams
Marketing teams
You will drive all aspects of the business in North America; in particular:
Acting as lead contact for key customers in North America, working with our sales team to win new business and ensure each account continues to deliver revenue and margin growth for Qualcomm
Working with the Voice & Music lead to ensure the Business has a clear marketing strategy that:
Provides a credible route to revenue and margin growth
Is backed by clear financial modelling
Is supported by the product roadmap
Fits with the wider strategic plan for the Voice, Music and Wearables business and Qualcomm overall.
Help to ensure that planned hardware, software and IP products deliver the needs of customers in North America
Additionally, you will have global responsibility for our audio ecosystems including Snapdragon Sound; in particular:
Understanding the overall audio market and determining how to position Qualcomm's audio ecosystems within it
Driving global business development with regional sales teams for Snapdragon Sound:
Personally driving adoption at key global OEMs across markets, including Phone, PC, Earbuds, Speakers, Wearables, Automotive, XR
Ensuring all regional sales teams understand the ecosystem proposition and are fully equipped with data and demonstrations to enable them to sell effectively
Ensuring a differentiated and consistent set of features are planned across Qualcomm products that supports a strong and differentiated ecosystem
Working with Qualcomm's audit teams to ensure brand compliance
Creating and expanding customer and industry partnerships to support and develop our business strategy
Driving and expanding the Extension Programme, which provides support for 3rd parties integrating their IP with our products to provide a richer offering
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of Product Marketing, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Communications, or related work experience.
OR
Associate's degree or equivalent degree and 10+ years of Product Marketing, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Communications, or related work experience.
OR
High school Diploma or equivalent and 12+ years of Product Marketing, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Communications, or related work experience.
*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
A proven track record of driving a marketing team to deliver sustained revenue and margin growth
Proven ability to develop business with large multinationals (e.g. Samsung)
A proven track record of developing, growing and supporting ecosystems
Experience of the silicon industry and/or audio market (ideally both)
Experience working within large matrixed organisations being comfortable achieving results via influence rather than direct line control
Qualification in a technical subject to a minimum of Masters level
Explicit formal training in business such as an MBA
Successfully managed small teams

Pay range:
$181,000.00 - $272,000.00
The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
