The role will enable Best Cost Country Sourcing & Manufacturing by ensuring that Procurement strategies are fully aligned, implemented and executed for the Skawina plant. This encompasses the transition of product, continuity of supply and quality requirements, through partnerships with a X functional project team.
Influence the X Functional organization at executive levels to support Best Cost Country strategy and make sound decisions on supplier strategy and product transitions.
The leader and escalation path in Procurement for all supplier management issues related to Best Cost Country. Work with the broader Procurement team of supply chain professionals to drive and execute on Best Cost Country goals relating
to Procurement / GQO strategies.
Collaborating closely with Planning & Purchasing, AO, OI, Operations, Quality and Procurement Leadership to develop and implement an organizational vison, structure, and strategy to provide clear lines on communication accountability, and
responsibility to support the growth of the Skawina site.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: (Detailed Description):
Management responsibilities includes setting of goals, structure, objectives, Key Performance Indicators and performance goals:
Partner with X Functional Leadership, Procurement, Quality, Manufacturing etc to implement consistent strategy and
processes. Responsibilities include:
○ Supplier and part transition analysis.
○ Cost modelling.
○ Supplier negotiations.
○ Program management.
○ Risk Management
○ Make vs Buy
Support Skawina purchasing lead for transitions and supplier performance.
Partner with Operations and Advanced Operations (AO) to evolve Best Cost Country and position the Skawina site for sustainable growth and results.
Provide Project Management and structural support to ensure that expansion of supplier base into Skawina and appropriately managing results while minimizing risk.
Continuously improve compliance and performance of supplier base.
Support companywide initiatives to develop and implement decision support and data systems to enhance supply chain decision making and performance monitoring.
Identify opportunities for awarding business for Skawina in-house manufacture and the selection of suppliers aligned with Category Strategies
Recognizes opportunities to maximize savings and increase efficiencies through shorter cycle times, lean activities, first time quality measures, and process mapping, and incorporate changes accordingly.
• Ensure cost standards are proactively established for annual operating budgets, and financial projections / management.
• Foster communication and teamwork within and across organizational boundaries
• Conduct regular project reviews to maintain business understanding and ensure delivery of Best Cost Country.
Education & Special Trainings:
• Bachelor's degree (Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance or equivalent). Master's degree preferred.
• Successful, 10+ year track record in a procurement organization
• Project Management and Financial analysis skills required.
• Strong understanding of FDA quality system requirements and related global medical device quality standards.
• General understanding of basic engineering and applied statistical analysis desired.
Previous experience with assigned product transitions, procurement, global supply chain initiatives or an equivalent
combination of education and experience
Qualifications & Experience:
10+ years of / Sourcing / Procurement Supply chain experience preferably in medical devices or other highly regulated
environment
• Strategic thinker - understands the details but can operate at a higher level
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, motivate and influence others in a dynamic high pressure environment
• Specific experience in the areas of project management, product transitions, procurement and materials management
• Project Management experience and proven track record of successful leadership of high impact projects.
• Strong leadership & interpersonal skills with the ability to engage & influence senior stakeholders
• Experience with world-class procurement, senior level stakeholder management practices both internal / external
Strong negotiations skills negotiating and implementing commercial contracts to include: supply and quality agreements
(QAA).
• Excellent verbal and written skills, ability to effectively present projects, status, etc.
• Ability to multi-task and coordinate initiatives with a virtual, global/regional team
• Persuasive 'change agent' capable of challenging conventional wisdom
• Track record of success in capturing value and driving spend to preferred suppliers
• Demonstrated ability to manage and improve supplier performance
• Hands-on mentality
• Ability to align with peers / stakeholders and build and maintain strong networks
